We stayed in a room with a kitchenette because I cook our meals instead of eating out all the time. The kitchenette is very small & the sink is so small you can't wash dishes without getting water everywhere! Whoever came up with the design for the kitchenettes is an idiot! The kitchenette has the so-called closet at the end of the counter where you cook! The fridge isn't a regular full-size one, but it definitely beats the mini fridge! The room is pretty spacious, but they have a small table with 1 chair & won't give you another one even though we have 2 people staying in the room! The bed isn't that comfortable & the blanket on the bed is a thin one with a very thin cover over it! But the topper is they don't have "Do Not Disturb" signs & they took the one I made off of my door! My boyfriend is working nights & we have to sleep in the daytime, but they won't let us have a sign on the door even though maid service came into our room while we were sleeping! Speaking of maid service, maid service doesn't do a job worth doing! There were pieces of food in the small kitchen sink & the countertop was sticky & nasty, there was hair & trash on the floor, there's mold in the shower! There was hair in the bathroom sink & on the counter before we even used it! After we checked in our room, I asked the young lady working at the check-in desk for extra towels, she asked me for the dirty ones back, lol! I told her that we just checked in & she acted like I was trying to steal the paper thin towels! The towels are very thin & rough, not...
Read moreWe went through Monahans on our way to NM in a family trip and got 2 rooms with 2 double beds each. The place was clean and up to date. The construction is pretty recent but you notice things starting to wear down, call out to management to make efforts on trying to keep it up, it was a very affordable neat and quick stay. Beds and linens were good and comfty. Good hot shower, would be great to get a bit more toiletries (there was just a couple of bar soaps). There were plenty of outlets and usb ports to charge electronics. The window had a blackout curtain that couldn’t be opened. The staff was pretty dry at check in, however I’d say it was ok. The place seemed busy so there were loud families running and yelling down the halls, but then again, that’s not really the management’s fault. The place is pet friendly and even has a dog waste station at the parking lot. Vending and ice machines were all empty and out of order. I saw a couple of microwaves. There was coffee in the morning. All in all this place is good for a quick, clean, affordable stay as you...
Read moreDuring a long road trip, I was looking for a hotel for one night just to get some rest. On the way, I found a budget option with good reviews, but then I came across this hotel. It looked fairly new, with a modern design and decent ratings, which convinced me to choose it despite the higher price.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by staff who clearly had no idea what they were doing. For about 15 minutes, the front desk clerk was on the phone, following instructions, while we just stood there — which was frustrating, as it was already midnight and we were eager to get to bed.
When we finally got to the room, we were very disappointed: there was dust everywhere, the bathroom was dirty, and the promised coffee machine and new shower were nowhere to be found. The bed sheets and towels — which I truly hope had been washed — had an unpleasant smell.
For a hotel advertised as 4 stars, it was very poorly maintained. It might be fine for one night, but they definitely need to improve...
