Out West RV Resort — Hotel in Monahans

A bit overpriced for what you get. It’s a nice place, but it’s still under construction. There’s no office to check you in. I was texting with the owner prior to our arrival, but when we arrived we had no idea where to park and couldn’t get a hold of him. We pulled over and walked around the park in 102 degree heat. I remembered reading in another review that he’s also the owner of the vet center next door so we walked over there and were finally able to check in. He basically took our payment and texted me the wifi password and gate code. He was nice enough, but not informative or welcoming. It looks like there’s a ramada being build and possibly some nicer landscaping. It looks like it’ll be nice when it’s finished and they get the kinks worked out. What a great spot ! We were going to be passing through the area so called ahead and booked a spot. The owner (Josh) was extremely pleasant to deal with and he gave us all of the information that we would need to come in and get settled. He then sent us a text message with all of this same information.

I don't know that I have ever been more pleasantly surprised than when we saw this place. The park has a beautiful gated entrance with gorgeous stone walls on front, and high privacy fencing on back and sides. Wide, paved streets with ample lighting make it easy to get into your site whether it be a back-in or pull through. Water, sewer and electric hook-ups are all easy to find, and are new.

There are no bathrooms, showers or laundry (yet) but these are all coming and you can just tell by the current facilities that when these things are added, they will be done right.

This is a great place for a night or two. Easy off and on Rte 20. Quite a few good sized pull through spots . We have a 38 ‘ 5th wheel and the site was perfect. There are also a lot of back in sites . It is clean and neat , great water pressure no problems. There are no facilities yet , so no laundry or showers, the owner is hoping to expand soon. He is also the owner and the doctor of Out West Veterinary Clinic which is right next door. Very convenient if traveling with pets and you need a vet for any reason as we did . Our 15 year old cat hadn’t been well and they were absolutely wonderful. He is feeling much better now. We thank Dr. Swarb...
