Unfortunately, I had some issues during my stay. When I arrived, right away we realized the toilet did not flush. The handle could nearly spin all the way around 360. My friend staying with me had to take the lid off the tank and pull on the chain to get the handle properly working so it would flush and not just continuously pull water. The water pressure in the shower was also not very good. It was extremely light/weak, to the point where it took longer than usual to get soap/shampoo rinsed off. The outer sheet on the bed had dirt-like stains on it, but thankfully the inner sheets and pillowcases at least seemed clean.
We were given two shampoo bottles instead of a shampoo & conditioner, which is not a big deal, just seemed like an accident. But I went down to the desk to ask for some conditioner since we only had 2 shampoo and the guy there said he'd bring some up. But he brought 2 more shampoo and started walking away. I said "wait please, this is more shampoo." And he said "well, we're out of conditioner." Things happen, you run out of things and I can understand that. But he could have just let me know instead of bringing two more shampoo lol. Then he said he'd be right back again and brought back a water cup with conditioner just poured in the cup. I appreciated him going the extra mile to find conditioner somewhere, but I still felt weird about using random conditioner in a cup like that. So I had to head over to the store and grab some instead.
Finally, we were given two bath towels or so I thought. My friend showered and used one towel and then I used the other. I noticed after hanging them up my towel was much shorter than hers. And only then did I realize it looked much more like a bath/floor mat. (I did not accidentally use the provided bath mat, which was on the floor already. This towel was hanging up with the other regular one). I think they gave us one regular towel and one bath mat on accident. It was also stained with dirt I realized after using it.
The person at the desk was very nice and doing his best and the location of the hotel was good, but these issues did put some dampers on the...
Read moreMy wife and I ended up here after our confirmation at an overbooked hotel nearby was mishandled. We ended up with the very last room at check-in, room 219, which later turned out to have bedbugs. We now suspect that this is why the room was the last one given to guests.||The façade of this place is as well-kept as possible, with a fresh coat of paint and flowers in full bloom. Room was tidy but foul-smelling. Runs for under $70 on a normal weekend but we paid nearly $400 out of desperation of having nowhere else to stay.||My wife, who is visibly pregnant with twins, was awoken at 1:30 AM with an itching sensation on her wrist. I quickly found a bed bug skittering away after flicking on the lights and pulling the sheets back. We immediately decided to report the issue to the manager, request a refund, fuel up on coffee, hit the road and abort our weekend trip.||The manager refused to refund us for the price of the room, even when shown the video evidence and the bloody bed bug carcass. He accused us of not trying hard enough to look for more bugs and eliminate them. He patronized my wife, who is allergic to insect bites and whose arm was beginning to swell, by asking her why she had not attempted to call a doctor. He insisted that a refund was not necessary because a maid had already ‘cleaned the room’ the day before as a matter of routine. ||After we continued to insist that we receive a refund so that we could leave and be on our way, he informed us that the matter could not be resolved until the police arrived, whom he had claimed to call, and until he was able to reach the health department, whom he also claimed to call (at 2 AM on a Sunday morning!) As expected, no police arrived after an hour of arguing, and the manager just stood there smugly recording us on his phone while we contacted our bank to initiate a...
