Monterey Elks Lodge #1285 — Hotel in Monterey

I booked a wedding at the Elks Lodge 13 months in advance of the wedding for a reception. I have attended weddings there in the past and it was really nice. It seems that now you HAVE to use their caterer. Vista Events Catering for the reception. I paid $900 to reserve the hall and another $700 for the catering. Unfortunately the wedding was not to be. We were promptly returned our $900 Elks deposit. When it came to the catering, I have been blown off as far as the deposit for the catering... or even a partial deposit. I have tried for months (since Oct 2013) until now by email and telephone calls trying to at least talk to her. She REFUSES to even talk to me. Beware of this business and go somewhere else. Monterey has other worthy options! Caron from Vista Events is totally unprofessional...

We came for the Valentines Dinner and Dance. There's four couples we all have our rv's here for 3-4 nights. Today, we spent some time at Cannery Row just down the hill from the lodge. Tonight, I hope to take advantage of their indoor gym, hot tub, and sauna. It's just too cold to use the outdoor pool. Just read that the pools heated, wow.

Great views of the bay from the pool. Today's a BBQ for a donation. BBQ burger, hot dogs, jalapeños poppers, and chips. Thank you, Monterey Elks, for lunch today.

Plenty of rv space, bring blocks as the grounds not level. Water and electricity with a dump...

Elks Lodge is a hidden gem in Monterey. They have a pretty decent size swimming pool and hot tub area. They also have a workout room with nice, clean showers. There is a large free parking lot for members as well. A nice bar for the locals and members. Catering towards more of an "older" crowd. Private events and weddings are booked here all year long and are known for their decent prices. Overall, friendly vibe...
