Bad experience!! We only spent less than an hour there! Ordered first drink for two 7.50. Thought we would take part in the “drink special” advertisement on their Facebook post for their Halloween Party, come In costume no cover charge and drink specials ALL NIGHT long for Miller Lite 16 oz. $2.00! Well we asked and the bartender was oblivious and asked to see what we had seen or were talking about when we told her that was what was advertised on their website 🤔 I showed her and she said she would get the owner so we could show him! He walks up and shrugs it off even though it is what was just posted 4 hours previously (mind you, I had only been there twice and it’s been years ago and my fiancé had never been there! We live 40+ minutes away and traveled there for a night away and for the costume contest/party it being Halloween weekend) Owner looks at us and shrugs his shoulders and blatantly says we don’t have them, meaning the Miller Lite 16 oz drink “specials” that were supposed to go all night long! And as for the cover charge, we were still charged to get in! Don’t believe what they advertise on their website if you look it up before going because it will be treated as if you’re the only one in the place that could read I guess lol. And then the owner never apologized or anything and when my fiancé went back up to ask why it had been posted just three or four hours prior to us being there...he was ignored. We left and won’t be back nor will we tell anybody we know to go there!! Horrible service and FALSE advertisement...
Read moreIn summary: only go to Thirsty Cowboy if you have no other options.
I only go to this place because there are no other options in the area. I dance at all the line dancing bars in Columbus, and have a much better experience at each of those ones.
Here’s what I don’t like:
-Thirsty has unfriendly staff, particularly those who work the entrance. -Thirsty only accepts cash covers at the entrance. -Thirsty has a rule that people are born allowed re-entry to the building, even on a FREE, NO COVER night. This is constantly monitored and extends to simply running out to your car to roll your windows up, drop your coat off, grab your card, etc. The place states that it’s because they “catch kids drinking in the parking lot all the time.” (You may not think this will impact you. I assure you, it is very likely that it will if you become a regular) -Patrons are, on average, not as friendly as other dance bars (anecdotally, I’m sure there are many great people that go here, too).
Here’s what I like:
-Relatively large dance floor (~200 people on a 16 count dance, probably). -Things for everyone to do. Dancing, darts, pool, drinks. -Patti is a fantastic teacher of line dances, and teaches on Wednesdays. Patti also teaches at other...
Read moreThis was our 1st time visiting. We went in for their Thursday night trivia. I absolutely loved this place! I had one of the best times I've had in months. 1st off, the whole place is super clean for being such a big place. It had a wide range of beers and liquor to choose from. The food was very good! I had the bacon cheeseburger with fries. The meat was seasoned & cooked perfectly. The homemade fries were so good too. I also tried some of my friends pulled pork cheesy fries. Wow! They were delicious. Out other friend ordered the chicken quesadilla. It was huge and stuffed with both cheese & plenty of chicken. He gave it two thumbs up. What really made our night fun was Tara. She was phenomenal! She was alone and taking care of the whole place, which was fairly crowded. She always had a smile on her face and kept us laughing with her quick wit. She is definitely an asset to this place. Everyone should give Thirsty Cowboy a try. You won't be...
