On Tap Medina — Restaurant in Montville Township

I am changing my review from 5 stars to 1 star based on my experience today. We arrived at 4:32pm and there was a slight wait of a few minutes. Then the hostess said she had a low top table (we had a toddler and needed a booster seat). As we started to follow the hostess to our table, a server cut in front of us with another party that came in after us and they rushed ahead and took our table. Then the hostess says the server took our table. So we went back to the hostess stand while she looked on paper, for another table. Then she said to us “Follow me.” So we all followed her in a circle through the restaurant and she went back to the hostess stand again. She said “No that’s not going to work.” Then she looked on paper for another table and said “follow me.” So we followed her for the 3rd time. We were finally actually seated. Then we sat and waited for 15 minutes and no one ever came to our table at all. We decided to leave and as we were leaving I explained to the Manager what happened. The hostess denied that she told us to follow her the 2nd time, when we went in a circle. The server admitting cutting in front of us and taking the party to the 1st table but did not apologize. The Manager apologized but not as quickly as I hoped. She said that if this was the only problem we ever had, that it was a one time mix up and acted like we should feel lucky and thankful for good service the other times. Although true, that does not make it right and I did not think it should just be treated as if it were no big deal. Went in on Saturday Oct 9 2021 for lunch and we were seated almost immediately (not busy) and after 25 minutes we watched others get seated and receive their drinks and appetizers. We had to go get a waitress and ask for service a few more moments went by and a waitress came by and apologized about us not getting service said she wasn’t supposed to be our waitress but would wait on us. It was another 10 minutes before we received our water and lemonade but still hadn’t received the beer. At this point we located a manager. There seemed to be like a blame game between the manager and the waitress that was supposed to serve us then the manager got us the beer. The food was mediocre at best had to send back one order since it was not what was ordered. Spicy Italian was burnt and truffle fries were over fried to the point that they were hard as granite. Burger was over cooked didn’t have any toppings on it at all (toppings were requested) ordered sweet potato fries got regular. Sweet potato fries didn’t have the brown sugar topping as it normally would since we have been coming in for some time. The service has been getting worsened over time. The waitress that did serve us did an okay job but when the food is brought out it’s not the waitress that delivers it, so they aren’t checking order against the written order. Buddy of mine and I went there today for the first time and we've lived in the area all our lives. I ended up getting the hangover burger and a little side salad and we shared garlic Parm fries and he got some pick 3 combo. The service and beer and our waitress were all great. The food itself was not bad but it was not good at all. Very odd tastes and such a diverse and complex menu. The waffle buns on my hangover burger didn't quite taste like a waffle and there was a weird artificial maple syrup taste in it. My friends fried pickles were totally soggy and one wasn't even battered and cooked, the chicken tenders were seasoned to hell and just weren't good. The garlic Parm fries were incredibly average and mostly floppy and soggy. House salad was good though along with my cocktail. The menu is incredibly large and diverse with all kinds of things on there and frankly if this many things we ordered weren't very good, I don't want to imagine what the other options are like. My advice to this business is cut the food menu in half and REALLY focus on excellent food but with a smaller menu. You can do everything mid or you can do a few things well. If the owners read this or whoever, our food was not egregiously bad enough to send back but it certainly wasn't enjoyable, kinda like...
