I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Riverside with my family on September 21, 2013. My sister was accepted to UC Riverside and their move in day was on the following day. We checked into the hotel around 9 pm and were greeted by an employee named Vilma and expected to have a good stay. However that was not the case at all. My sister, her friend and I decided to explore the hotel (being that we were guests at this terrible place, we assumed that we were allowed access to the guest amenities) After grabbing the last few items from our car we decided to check out the 24 hr fitness center. Since we were GUESTS at this hotel we used our KEY to get back inside the hotel through one of the back entrances with the KEY that was assigned to us. We easily entered the building and as we walked towards the gym we overheard the employees Vilma and Jonathan freaking out about how we got into the hotel. Assuming they were talking about someone else I casually walked to the elevator to drop off the rest of the items from the car. I entered the elevator and pressed the button for the fourth floor. Out of nowhere I heard Jonathan yelling to please hold the elevator which I kindly did. He exited on the third floor and I proceeded to the 4th floor as soon as I got off the elevator to my surprise there was Jonathan as if he was waiting for me to get off the elevator to make sure I was guest there or something. Thinking nothing of it I returned to the gym where my sister and her friend were waiting for me. Literally 5 minutes later security rushed into the gym and began interrogating us asking us why were there, how did we get in, if we had a key Why?! Cause we were people of color? Brown people cannot work out? The security officer was very apologetic after we showed him our room key and explained to us that he only came in because the employees on duty VILMA and JONATHAN were in fact profiling us, this was extremely unprofessional and offensive. We did not know that racism was still alive and thriving in this companies policy and will never return to this hotel or any other Hampton inn at that. Stay away! and spend the extra money on an actual friendly and customer service oriented hotel.
P.S maybe if Vilma and Jonathan were not failures at life and actually went to college they would not have to take out their anger of their miserable jobs...
Read moreSo many reasons; here are just a few: I did not give them a 1 because of the breakfast service. Check in was supposed to be at 3:00 p.m.; but, we did not get to check in as the suite was not cleaned "yet" because they were "severely understaffed" that day and the hotel was fully booked. We waited in a closed dining room area and at about 4:25 p.m., we were called up because the suite was allegedly cleaned and ready. I booked a two queen suite telephonically with the staff and was given a king suite. I immediately went back down to the front desk and was told that the 2nd bed was in a pull-out couch in the room. I was staying for my birthday and this was unacceptable. However, being that the hotel was booked, the only option would have been to ruin all our other plans by going home. There were no sheets, bedding or pillows for the pull-out sofa bed so AGAIN we had to wait on housekeeping. Then, I had purposely booked the suite with the bathtub that had jets so I could relax. I went into the bathroom to take a relaxing, hot bath. The tub had been decorated nicely with rolled up wash clothes and soap, etc.; however, the tub had chunked dirt and a previous guest's hair in it. Not only was this disgusting; but, it was even more unacceptable given the cleanliness requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have enjoyed Hilton's and Hampton Inn's professionalism and clean standards in the past, at several of their other hotels and this was my first (and last) time staying at this Moreno Valley, California location. When I contacted the hotel manager about the tub, I was told that housekeeping was not there and they would not return until 8:00 a.m. and would go straight to my suite (number 430) as soon as they arrived. The hotel manager offered me a complimentary late check out for the inconvenience. My husband and I were concerned about the cleanliness of the entire suite. I took pictures of the bathtub's dirt, chunks and hair and went down and showed them to the hotel manager who took about $60 off of the suite rate. I was polite and reasonable. She was completely unprofessional. This was awful. I am NOT one to complain or write a negative review. However, this review...
Read moreThis is one of the best hotel stays Ive ever had. It’s a little more expensive than others in the area, but it is so worth it. My parents were both injured in an accident and I stayed there 9 days, and they stayed slightly less. The desk girls treated them and me in ways that were not just hospitable but truly caring. Clair is the only one I remember by name, but each one of them working up there was so so kind.
Housekeeping went above and beyond in customer service. They told me they weren’t allowed to enter my room because I had an animal, which was fine. They were checking in to make sure I had towels, soap, toilet paper, and overall so kind.
The woman working on the continental breakfast most mornings was also so welcoming and kind. She was so quick to respond to anything that needed to be done, even though it looked like she was doing a lot herself! Whatever she is being paid, it’s not enough.
Pros: -the staff. Amazing. And they really try to help you out. They fetched me salt packets, dishes, looked around and lent me some scissors, got mail for us, even let me DoorDash a large litter box and kept it behind the desk until arrival -outdoor pool and hot tub -pretty good continental breakfast. Changes each day, but usually eggs and sausage of varying types. Also the standard bagels, waffles, yogurt, juice, etc. -pretty clean, although there was a little pile of trash a guest left in the stairwell for a few days tucked behind a door -they gave me a weekly rate that brought down the price substantially and said no penalty for canceling early -the suite is just an average size, but the studio is HUGE. Get one if you can if you’ll be there a while. -right across the street from the mall, basically in an Aldi parking lot, close to lots of food -little on-site snack shop
Cons: -blackout curtains didn’t overlap so a little light was always shining in -pillows kinda flimsy
Overall I cannot recommend this...
