This hotel is more like home away from home! My husband and I felt so welcomed and at home as soon as we walked into the lobby. Everything was SUPER CLEAN and the staff was amazing and I mean AMAZING! The room was a nice temp when we walked in. The sheets and pillows were clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and well stocked with DOVE hand wash and lotion and the shower had Dove body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Plenty of towels, washcloths, hand towels. There was a mini fridge with a little freezer and a microwave, coffee maker with coffee and teas. They welcomed my fur baby, Henry. He’s a Persian kitty so he looks grumpy all the time, lol, but they welcomed him as well and even he was comfortable in the room. He always seems agitated when we travel, but he was calm and did very well! That has to be due to the atmosphere! He was happy! I’m a picky, picky, VERY PICKY person, especially when it comes to hotels and restaurants, but breakfast was so good, y’all! The lady that works there on the weekends, serving breakfast (starting at 4 am!) couldn’t be more friendly if she tried! :) she greets everyone in the morning when you come down for breakfast and she keeps everything stocked. The pool is nice and clean and open 24 hours!!! We won’t stay anywhere else when in the area. We just happened up on this location because we were traveling with Henry and needed a pet friendly hotel. I can’t begin to say enough good about this hotel (home away from home) There lots to see and do and places to eat. There’s a casino about 22 minutes from the hotel and a shopping center about 20-30 minutes from the hotel with plenty of shopping and a whole lot more eating places! Try the Quaker Steak and Lube in Triadelphia. It’s in the same area as the shopping center. They have THE BEST food and the atmosphere is great. Their homemade potato chips and beer cheese!! My recent stay at Holiday Inn Express in Moundsville, WV, left me with mixed feelings. While there were some positive aspects, there were significant disappointments that overshadowed the experience.To start, I appreciated the proactive approach of the hotel staff who called before my arrival to confirm my reservation and inquire about any special requests. I specifically mentioned the need for a hypoallergenic room, to which they assured me they would accommodate.However, upon entering the room, it became evident that the cleanliness standards fell short of expectations. Despite the front desk clerk's apparent rush to ensure the room was ready, it seemed more like a hurried attempt to straighten up rather than thorough cleaning. The room smelled pleasant, and the beds were neatly made, but our discovery of a rag with blood and snot stains left hanging up was disturbing. Additionally, the lack of wiped counters and unvacuumed floors added to our dismay.With my wife and three kids accompanying me, the condition of the room was unacceptable. We had to take matters into our own hands, spending time disinfecting and cleaning to feel comfortable. This experience was particularly disappointing given the premium price we paid for the night, exceeding $200.Despite these cleanliness issues, I must commend the friendly demeanor of the hotel staff and the cleanliness of the swimming pool area. If you are in need of a hotel in the Moundsville area, you need to stay at the Holiday Inn Express Suites! It is probably the cleanest and best-appointed hotel in this price point. My husband and I are frequent Marriott guests, but our stay here has changed our minds. Emily was working the reception desk upon our check-in and she could not have been friendlier! She ensured our check-in went smoothly, and even called the room a few minutes after to make sure everything was to our standards, which it was. She gave us dinner recommendations and information about what to see in the area, all with a smile and warm professionalism.

Our room was spacious and immaculate, with a comfortable king sized bed and a zero-entry shower. One of the touches we especially liked was the black-out shades covering the windows.

We took full advantage of the hotel pool and hot tub, which were conveniently open 24 hours a day. The area was clean and towels were readily available.

Breakfast service, which was included with our stay, started at 4am daily, and featured plenty of choices, including fresh fruit.

At checkout, I spoke with Molly, the hotel manager, and paid her our compliments. She was so nice and also pleased to hear we enjoyed our stay.

If we are in the area in the future, we will definitely return to this hotel. We wouldn't even want to stay...
