China East Restaurant — Restaurant in Mount Pleasant

I haven't been there in years, sadly. But when I was a kid, I had the absolute best memories of that restaurant. They were so darned friendly and always had amazing food. They used to make my brother fried noodles, and introduced us to broccoli rabe. I fondly remember a few times of her offering to make me fried donuts if I could run down to the Harris Teeter for her -- and man I would set land speed records to get them there as fast as possible!

They even taught my brother and I some bits of Mandarin when they heard we'd love to learn more. (I've forgotten it by now, I'm sorry to say)

I ordered house fried rice special w/egg foo young, fried chicken, shrimp egg roll while on the phone going to restaurant, while at counter taking my card for order the lady proceeded to the microwave to heat up my gravy, I immediately asked for a refund she said I can make it fresh I said please, yes that’s why I ordered here cook to order I thought, she than emptied the gravy out the container into the wok and just heated the gravy, wow, I’m on lunch starving so took food, the egg roll was greasy half fried the vegetables in the rice was hard as a rock (peas) the food just was not good at all, I will never go back again and the...

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Asked for lots of soy sauce with our three orders and they only delivered three packs. Asked for four pair of chopsticks, they delivered nothing. When I asked the delivery driver if he could bring some of the missing items back to us, from the store that's a mile away, he literally said "You get nothing! Sign! Sign receipt!" Terrible service and mediocre food. I would recommend avoiding this business at all costs. There are many other choices for cheap chinese food in Mt. Pleasant, and I will seek those options for myself and the company I work for...
