Beautiful location. Rooms are nicely done with the stone fireplace but very small, as stated on the website. The bathroom in our room was so small you had to close the door before being able to sit down on the toilet. Sadly, we had some issues that affected the quality of our stay, which I am bringing up so management can address them. All of the upholstered furniture in our room was worn to the point where the springs were shot, causing you to literally sink into every piece of furniture. Talk about incredibly uncomfortable. This included the leather couch and both upholstered chairs, the only furniture available to sit on, short of the bed. This was very disappointing to us, as we had planned to spend our afternoon reading in front of the fireplace (everything in town and up at the village was closed during our visit) and could not do so without a lot of discomfort. This resort charges top dollar for lodging, so it would have been nice if there had been comfortable furniture for our stay. Also, there was no Wi-Fi available for any of our media. When we called the front desk to inquire about it we were told it must be our computer - seriously, you say this to your guests?- and that we should reboot it. We had already done that, of course. Since that didn't work the front desk referred to a 3rd party vendor (and NOT the phone number on the WiFi access) who wanted access to our computer to diagnose the problem. My husband works in IT; a 3rd party vendor should never request access to your computer, for any reason. When we refused access we were told that there was no way he could fix the problem without it. We found that very curious; in all our stays in hotels over 30 years, never has this been requested of us. Also, when we tried to access Wi-Fi we had to agree to receiving marketing/sales emails or access would be denied. So Mountain Lodge Resort has contracted with a 3rd party vendor who sells their customer's data in exchange for access to their Wi-Fi? For a top level resort, it's very concerning that they would do this, especially in these times where hackers stop at nothing to steal info. Last of all, our bathroom was not clean when we arrived. The bathtub was dirty - the spa tub nozzles were full of black algae -and the bathroom sink had toothpaste marks all over the surface. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned after the last guest stay. As for the lodge, access to the main dining room and bar was denied; there was a plastic wall up and an employee sitting behind the desk preventing you from entering. If we hadn't booked and paid for 2 nights we would have checked out after the first night. We tried to make our experience there pleasant, but it just didn't work for us. We won't be returning, even during ski season. Please note: for those guests wanting to cook in their rooms....there is NO oven,...

Wanted to update our 3 star review after staying for our anniversary. We had an amazing time and hope to visit again. The location cannot be beat. The gondola is a short walk and right next to a market that has everything you may need. The staff was insanely nice! We wanted to give a mega shoutout to two bartenders - Geo and Jake, and a wait staff member - Brayan. They made us feel so special while celebrating, they made awesome drinks and played great music for us poolside folk. I originally left a slightly negative review before visiting because we were a bit let down in the lead up to our trip. The manager was kind enough to offer a gift card to the restaurant on site that we easily used for breakfast. We appreciate the outreach.

We were honestly over the wedding overlap thing until some people in town told us "yeah we hear they do that a lot," "that's not the first time we've heard that" and "they'll probably give you a gift card to shut you up" (these were comments were made in regards to a wedding/event taking away amenities from other guests). It still feels a bit disappointing knowing we paid full price for our stay (we called for prices one day and two days later when we booked they had increased), on top of $35/day parking (which we were incorrectly charged for but this has been fixed). So overall that part just feels meh but regardless, we had a great time at a beautiful resort and don't think anyone can go wrong by visiting here.

Oh, our dogs loved our grassy/fenced in walkout patio, too.

Writing this with plans of updating. We're staying in a few weeks for our ten year wedding anniversary and we're already a little annoyed. Is it normal for a wedding to take over the major amenities to where guests can't use the facility? Last week we went to make a reservation at the well renowned restaurant, The View, and we can't due to a wedding. At first we were bummed simply because we don't get to have our anniversary dinner but easily made a reservation some where else. However, the frustration comes from the fact that when making the reservation we discussed our anniversary date and eating at the restaurant and nothing was mentioned. We booked about a month or so ago, so I'd think a wedding would be known (Maybe not though). Today, we're annoyed all over again because we just received a text (a week and a half before our reservation) that not only is the restaurant closed (for lunch, too) so is the pool deck . We unfortunately made the mistake of booking the special where you pay in advance which means no refund, but I find it strange that it wouldn't be discussed before hand that two of the main focus points of this resort won't be accessible. I'm sure it'll be fine, but a bit disheartening before we've...

WEDDING VENUE REVIEW - We hosted our wedding at the Mountain Lodge - so this review is pertaining to the Mountain Lodge as a wedding venue, but it also served as a great hotel for our guests to stay.

If you are lucky enough to consider the Mountain Lodge as your wedding venue, then you should 100% plan your wedding there. Our wedding had ~110 guests, and the Mountain Lodge was able to accommodate our guest count perfectly. We had a seated dinner, with 30 guests seated outside, and the rest inside. The venue itself, the views, the staff, and the food were all incredible. The staff at Mountain Lodge went above and beyond every expectation we had. Sam and Kaitlyn (who are the main wedding / event coordinators) were amazing to work with, and made the whole experience for us. We exchanged countless emails/text messages, and were able to meet with them in person multiple times for tastings and planning sessions. They did everything they possibly could to meet our wants/needs for our wedding day. They went out of their way to bring in specific alcohol we requested, allowed us to add lighting to the pool deck and decorate the pool with flowers, and basically accommodated every request we had. They were always quick to respond to our countless questions, professional, extremely patient, and fun to work with every step of the way. They were also always willing to get creative with us to make sure that our desires were met without exceeding our budget. With the rapidly evolving COVID situation, they always stayed positive and kept us informed about whatever changes were happening in the county. On our wedding day, the staff at Mountain Lodge made us feel like royalty, and all of our guests could not have had a better time. There was never a line at the bar, or an empty drink, and the staff converted the outdoor dinner party to a dance floor seamlessly. The food was delicious, and they were even able to accommodate food allergies/intolerances for our wedding guests. Lastly the views - the views just speak for themselves. It was incredible to eat dinner outside just soaking in the beauty of the San Juans, and all of our guests inside were in awe of their dinner views as well. Additionally, many of our guests stayed at the hotel, and all were very happy with their accommodations. It was also very nice for them to be able to run to their rooms if they forgot something. All in all, the Mountain Lodge is an incredible place to get married and I would do it all over again if I could. They did everything in their power to create and execute our dream wedding day, and we couldn’t recommend...
