TERRIBLE- On Dec 28 I tried walking in to rent boots and skis. I waited 20 min for someone to speak to me only to tell me that I need to go online to make a reservation. There were half a dozen people working and no one would make eye contact or help whatsoever. I finally got someone's attention and asked how to rent boots. Basically with as little interaction as possible I was told, "go on line, make reservation", and without another word they walked off in a rush. I made the reservation (Confirmation Number: 19891293), paid $215 with CC, and came back the next morning (with my ski instructor with me), only to be told the website shouldn't have allowed me to make a reservation and that they would not honor it. I heard the employee tell the person in front of me this and they spent several minutes cussing and arguing with her. So, when my time came to get this news I tried to not take it out on the poor employee who had obviously been getting cussed out all day, but I was furious. I just basically said your company is horrible and left. However, I walked across the road to Christies, who I didn't have a reservation with, and they were polite and helped me on the spot with no reservations. 5 stars for Christies. If I could give MINUS FIVE STARS to Telluride Sports I would. This place is mismanaged and due to this has very unhappy employees. GO ELSEWHERE if you want to be treated like you are...
Read moreFriendly staff and high quality bikes and gear to rent. Biggest complaints are with the process and bike setup. I was told to fill out the computer forms the day prior to get 20% and this would allow me to come in the next morning and simply grab my bike/gear and head out. Well I ended up waiting as they were super busy and I was given a bike that wasn’t setup for me. My first run down the park i could tell the suspension was really stiff. I checked once I got to the bottom and I had only used about 50-70mm on travel on a 200mm DH bike. So I switched the bikes out which I had to once again fill out another form, and this bike was closer to my required setup. I checked once I completed the same run and sure enough...I was now using about 150mm on a 160mm trail bike. This was a much better ride. I wish this place tailored the bike setup for each user.
I went and asked around and consensus is to use Boot Doctor just around the corner as they setup the bike up for size and weight. Oh yeah and Boot Doctor is cheaper....
Read moreThis is our fourth year skiing Telluride, and the first time renting skis from Telluride Sports (though we’ve bought stuff from the Franz Klammer location). They were GREAT! First two days we got Performance skis, and Benjamin took care of us. He asked lots of questions about our skiing before selecting and setting them up just right for the conditions. We took a day off, then reserved Demo skis for the next two days. Carrie and Julianna greeted us warmly, and helped us select the right skis for the changing snow - temps have been in the 40’s, no new snow has fallen, and it’s “crunchy” everywhere with some ice…not like the east coast, but definitely harder than I’ve seen here. They were awesome, patient with our questions, and weren’t afraid to ask the more experienced coworkers when they weren’t sure how to answer or what to recommend. Great service from everyone we met at the...
