We live locally but have some construction going on at our house and needed to disconnect our AC for a couple days so we figured we’d stay at this brand new hotel for a couple nights. I checked in around 5:20pm without my family so that i could get everything unpacked first. I left a approx. 5:40pm to pick up my 4 year old and some pizza to bring back to our room while waiting for my husband and older son. On the way out i asked if there were rooms with a safe, as we reserved our room with a law enforcement discount because my husband is law enforcement, therefor would need a safe to store his gun. I was told no. When reserving my room online i updated my preferences to request extra towels and extra foam pillows. Neither were in my room. There are 4 people staying in the room and there were 2 bath towels. So I asked for them on the way out and was told they would have more towels in 10 minutes but they didn’t know if foam pillows were available. For the record, I have neck issues that need a firm supportive pillow. When arrived back at my room with my 4 year old , upon entering the room i noticed there were ants all over the desk (no extra towels had been delivered either). I called Guest services at 6:50pm and they placed me on hold so see which room they could move us to, then said they’d call back in a few minutes. At approx 7:15pm I called back and they said they’d bring me a key for a new room. I asked if they had a luggage cart they could bring too bc I had all of my family’s stuff, dinner and a 4 year old to move by myself. They said they’d be right up so i quickly repacked my family’s belongings and waited.... and waited. At 7:40pm I called again because they still hadn’t arrived and my 4 year old hadn’t eaten, it was nearing his bedtime and he has school in the morning. It just rang and rang. I then called the neighboring hotel, Residence Inn to see I’ve they had any vacancies but they didn’t have anything with 2 beds available. Finally I was just going to leave and go back home. I carried my entire family’s stuff & dinner down to the lobby with my 4 year old for one girl to ask my last name again and the other to give me a new key, saying they upgraded us. I went up to our new 85 degree (on a 100 degree day) room, which wasn’t an upgrade other than being a handicap accessible room, which actually is more difficult when you have a 4 year old. Have you ever tried to shower w your 4 year old in a handicap accessible tub?? There’s bars and a seat that folds down impeding the space in the tub. The ottoman for the chair is missing in this room. We still need more towels and one of the few that we have is covered in black hair (gross), but I’ll deal with that in the morning.
Really bummed. Was hoping we would have a great hotel to recommend...
Read moreIt's a Marriott, so a nice hotel. Pretty sure they said they are an ''eco'' hotel on check in, whatever that means. OK - great. ||Got to room - freezing!! Guess was prepared during warm part of day and aircon left on (not very eco!!!). Arrived at night.. felt SO cold! Set to heat and after some time, felt better. ||Never mind re-using towels, the problem is usually just that there is nowhere to dry them, if more than one person in the room. This was a 2 person stay. This was ok... space for 2 larger towels on the single rail, IF both folded in half. Hand towel soaked from washing long hair, over shower curtain rail... but hotels please, if you want us to re-use, provide adequate drying space for how many people can use the room!! ||NO service - guess part of ''eco'' too. So room never tidied, trash never taken. There is coffee left for one day, so you have to ask for next day and next day etc. OK, can ask of course, just wish they'd at least replenish this as standard for each day of your stay - they make the guest run around... all for $200 a night ;) No water or anything in the fridge - again - you can ask = buy. ||Shame that rate doesn't include replenished water and coffee, and also breakfast. You can order and pay for breakfast at onsite mini Starbucks (no thanks) or get an actual breakfast at Denny's, just down the road ;) ||Wifi worked throughout so that is real helpful and appreciated. ||Lobby space was nice - seating by the Starbucks and booths and and other spaces around the other side too. ||Only saw outdoor pool/jacuzzi - nothing indoors?||Room was nicely done - This was a 2 queen bed room. ||Rooms seemed pretty soundproof - you'd hear people in the corridor at times, but were not aware of sound from adjacent rooms, so that was great.||Bathroom provided shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. No moisturizer. Tissues - but again you'd need to ask if ran out. Hairdryer provided also. ||Lamp in corner over comfy chair, wasn't working. ||No safe. ||Several hangers, 2 large drawers, 2 small drawers. ||Fridge, coffee machine. ||Lots of sockets and USB points. ||Some lighting was dimmable which was nice. ||Check out smooth, although didn't bother to ask how the stay was or thank us for staying... and there are a lot of other hotel options available. ||So it was good, but some improvements would be make it great, and would be expected to be found really, for the...
Read moreIt pains me to not want to recommend a hotel. It ended up being the culmination of many little things that pushed me to not want to return.
I still wear a mask and I know everyone approaches covid differently, if employees are going to be maskless, then the hotel should be back to full amenities.
All of my shower dispensers (shampoo/soap) were empty. This just shows neglect on house keepings part, as it means it was continuously not checked, the little preview window shows its low at 30% or so, to let it run to 0% is a repeat offense.
The alarm was turned on and set for 6:40am. I was fortunate to catch this and turn it off. I don't know if I can pin this on the hotel or the previous guest, so I won't, but its a nuisance none the less.
I was trying to find a menu for the down stairs store from my room, I couldn't find it on the website or the TV. This is on me, as I should have gone down and checked.
I have platinum membership, I redeemed the room on points, I normally don't ask for an upgrade as I know its based on availability. Prior to check in, I think I got there at around 7pm, I had checked and saw there were still larger rooms available and 1 suite, as the suite indicated there was only 1 left. I had asked if there were any larger rooms available for upgrade and was told the hotel was sold out. Which checking on the app proved that wasn't the case. I was hoping for the larger guest room and not the suite but was not able to get either. I should have probably pressed the issue and asked for the larger room (didn't want the suite). Was bummed about that
I really did enjoy the paved driveway outside and the bed was very good! As in, i'd like to buy that bed for personal use, good! I did get my 500 points on check in which was nice. Overall the hotel itself was nice and modern, but all the little things added up to not wanting to return. Maybe i'll try the Residence Inn next...
