This happened at around 3:00 PM on January 25, 2025. After seeing and hearing some good things about their food I decided to walk in and make an order. I walked up to the older woman in front at the cash register, greeted her, and told her what I wanted. Normally, when I go to restaurants to order food, I don’t expect harsh and rude treatment or arguing from the employees. After telling her my order, the lady asked me with a tone “you want to order first?” I looked at her for a few seconds. I said “I just told you what I want.” She continued by saying “You can’t get the food without ordering.” “I said yes, I just told you my order.” She answered by saying “Ok sir whatever.” This was the final straw for me. I said “Do you treat all your customers like this, or maybe you are not looking to make business with me specifically?” She answered “Yes maybe.” I don’t know if the lady thought I was looking for a handout or what, but she showed me a lot of resentment so I left. She treated all her other customers like family. It’s a shame, the food looked so good (I didn’t even get to order) but apparently they have racist management here and the older lady in the front with the cash register (likely part of management) has very bad character.
Response to January 26, 2025, Message from Restaurant Owner:
I would like to address some of the claims made in your recent message regarding my experience at your restaurant.
First, you mention that you reviewed camera footage where I allegedly accused the employee of being racist. While I did mention that the employee's English skills seemed limited, my concern was more about the difficulty I had trying to place my order. When I approached her to make my purchase, she seemed to assume I was looking for a handout, which made it impossible for me to complete my transaction. I did not accuse her of racism in the establishment I did it in the review based on how she treated me, and I challenge you to release the footage to provide clarity. If you are confident that the footage will support your claims, I would appreciate it if you would share the full video with the public.
Additionally, I would like to highlight some crucial details that were omitted in your message. The employee's argumentative behavior made the ordering process unnecessarily difficult, and her dismissive response to my question about whether she wanted my business was not only unprofessional but also rude. One of these dismissive responses was when I asked her if she was maybe not interested in serving me, her response was a casual, "yes, maybe" and when I told her that I was in fact ordering she stated "whatever," which felt dismissive and unhelpful.
I also find it troubling that you are using the excuse of confusion about my role, claiming that the employee thought I was a DoorDash delivery driver. I never indicated that I was a driver. I clearly stated that I was there to place an order as a customer, and this misunderstanding, if it occurred, should not have justified the attitude I received. Even if I were a DoorDash driver, the dismissive behavior would still have been uncalled for.
Lastly, I want to bring attention to some of your responses to other customer reviews. If you truly believe your employee’s performance is exemplary, I would suggest revisiting comments like those from Kader Ferhat, B E, and S B, where negative feedback was met with defensiveness rather than a willingness to improve. As a customer, I expect better treatment, and your response to criticism could use some improvement as well.
I believe it’s important to be transparent with your customers, and I stand by my account of the situation. If you have nothing to hide, I encourage you to release the footage in its entirety so that others can judge...
Read moreTotally a hidden gem in the Temecula Valley. So glad we decided to give this restaurant a try. You wouldn't know by the name of it that it serves Mediterranean dishes, but the food is fantastic.
What sets it apart IMO is how fresh it is. My wife and I joked that we would try and get the recipes and make it at home. But I doubt we could come anywhere close to the taste, but also the fresh ingredients. Seriously, so fresh and amazing. I can't speak to the authenticity, but if I was a betting man, I'd bet super authentic as well.
The vibe is super chill and very friendly. The owner is so nice, she always greets us with a smile and we feel welcomed. It's also super clean, which is also very important to me.
And the food. I wish I could eat everything on the menu. Unfortunately I'm a vegetarian, so no meat (medical reasons). But my wife and daughter are carnivores and have repeatedly raved about their dishes. I've enjoyed everything from their falafel, hummus, lentil soup, wraps, salads, zatars. Since I can eat eggs, I've also had their veggie omelet and it is off the chain. We've had their crepes and it it's a nice way to end a meal. Oh and did I mention their garlic spread. For reals, I would put that on everything if I could -- ridiculously good!
So if you haven't been, you've gotta go. Yes, they have pizza. But, they are so much more and don't let the name of the...
Read morePsst... Doughlicious is an authentic Mediterranean restaurant with freshly made dishes. We were surprised!
As soon as you open the door, please walk all the way to the counter and ring the bell for service. This is a family-owned restaurant. Owners Joe and Ri ("Rye") personally service their customers, so you may catch them preparing in the kitchen if not serving in the front house. Just let them know you're here.
Ambience is quiet when we arrived on a midweek dinner. But it may get busy on weekends. Dining area looks casual and a bit intimidating because of its size, but once you get served your food, you will feel the warmth and hospitality of Joe, Ri, and maybe their children.
What we love: casual dining, with affordable prices, big portions that can be shared by two diners, and best of all... the flavor of food is like dining in an elegant, Michelin Star restaurant. Totally surprised us.
The food, the service, the price, the ambience, and the experience are remarkably epic! This is the place worth your social events for (reunions, business meetings, small private parties, even a quiet romantic dinner date).
We will definitely come back!
P.S.: Joe gave us a tour of the huge, very clean, well-organized kitchen. I believe it, all (flat) breads are made from scratch every morning. They have the industrial size oven for it, and we did not see any canned...
