This would be zero stars but I made it 2 because the young lady who helped me in the shoe department was very helpful. Once we made it to the register that whole thing changed. We had to step out of line to double check a online coupon that we had with us.. the cashier said it wasn't " Formatted Properly " Well it was quickly explained that all she had to do is use the numbers UNDER the Barcode if she cannot scan it and it will be either instantly accepted or rejected. She refused to either scan it OR enter the numbers....hmmmmm She called for a manager who essentially and very nervously avoided the same solution.. If this Coupon that SAYS BIG 5 on it isn't correct your machine will reject it, it take HALF a second to try it right???? ( we both spent time in retail in our youth so we know this is a fact , not to mention we had just left MACYS and used the same app there that simply scans the internet for store coupons and lets you know about them ) Well As the line backed up behind us I didn't want to be THAT guy holding it up so I just got my Boots and left the store. She didn't get hers because they didn't have them in the color she wanted. SO she bought them ELSEWHERE ( Big 5 ) USED the coupon with ZERO hesitation and went on her merry way. I then checked MY local Big5s ( I have 2 ) and they BOTH Honor that coupon. This isn't an earth shaking event and it really only would have saved like 10 bucks but it is the fact that they have an issue at this location honoring BRANDED and HONORED Advertised Coupons. The attempt at explaining it away was weak and yes THREE other Big5s didn't even Blink. I am sure I could find 10 more. Feeling a bit ripped off by the manager at this location, he could have just been truthful and said THIS location doesn't honor Big5 coupons and we would have respected that and made the choice to either...
Read moreRACIST EMPLOYEE works there! My husband, 2 children & myself were racially profiled by the older lady with the long blondish/white hair who works there. We went there to look for a specific basketball size for my son. As soon as we walk in, the lady is watching us like a hawk! While my family is browsing, I walk out to the trash can right outside the building to throw something away & as soon as I walk back in I’m met with the same lady asking me “Is there something I’m looking for” with the worst stank attitude ever. I tell her I’m just looking at the basketball section. After finding my husband, I told him that we can get what we are looking for somewhere else cheaper. So as we are leaving, he is looking at the fishing poles & other stuff & she is still staring at us watching our every move. There were plenty of other people in the store & she singled us out & made us feel very uncomfortable. I will be contacting corporate because there is nothing threatening or wrong about a family browsing a store for something their son needs for basketball practice. If she is going treat people like that based on skin color then she should not be working there or...
Read moreI will never shop here again. I bought a pair of sneakers that were on sale. I always wear the same size in the brand I purchased. I didn't try them on. When I got home I tried them on and they were wide shoes placed in the wrong box. When I returned to the store about a week later, I couldn't find it my receipt. There is a big large Big 5 yellow sticker on the box. All I wanted was a store credit. I shop here often. The shoes were not worn. The snarky clerk told me they won't take them back without the original credit card. I couldn't remember how I paid and have many cards. He gave me a hard no and basically I'm stuck with shoes that were placed in the wrong box. I can't wear them. They are brand new and they don't lose a penny by giving me a store credit. He scanned them and could see they came from this store and the date. Policies can be changed and this one is just dumb. You lost a regular customer. No refunds, no credit. Fine,...
