We booked a one night stay here and loved it.
Parking was easy as we were able to find FREE street parking a block from the hotel. You have to try to arrive right after the street sweeper comes and move it before it comes back. Street parking isn't allowed on the street mon-thurs 10:30am 12pm. We arrived Thurs at 1130am and left our car until Friday night.
The room offered a 2 nightstand lights that were dimmable, ceiling light, mini fridge, 2 windows with privacy tint, pull down shades AND curtains, a wall mounted air conditioning unit that was VERY quiet and efficient, drawer space, closet space, a safe, a wallmounted TV, a queen/full bed, a full size wall mirror, an alarm clock, a charging cable with multiple cords to charge various devices and plenty of outlets for other plugs. The mini fridge was stocked with drinks and some snacks were avail on the dresser. Drinks and snacks are $1 each.
The bathroom had a full shower/tub, sink with a rinse cup, toilet, wall shelf, hair dryer, wall to wall mirror and a small floor cabinet. The amenities were several soaps, shampoo, conditioner, qtips, and cotton balls. We had plenty of towels and the room was brightly lit.
The continental breakfast was a variety of cold cereals with your choice of regular, almond, or soy milk, Oatmeal (maple and brown sugar instant), several kinds of breads, muffins bagels, fresh fruit (apples, bananas, oranges, etc.), various jellies, honey, nutella along with 24/7 coffee, hot tea, espresso and chilled water.
There was a courtyard that was small but very intimate and a nice place to unwind at the end of the day or at breakfast. There is a fireplace in the foyer for chilly nights where the hotel does a social hour from 530-7pm with wine, cheese etc.
Overall our expectations...
Read moreWe booked a double room at this hotel months in advance for our trip to New York. Before flying, we even called to confirm our reservation, and they reassured us everything was fine, only mentioning a so-called “plumbing issue.” After doing some research, we later discovered that this “plumbing issue” is a common excuse they use frequently – many other reviews mention the exact same thing.|After a 9-hour flight, we arrived at the hotel exhausted, only to be told that our reservation had been cancelled without warning. Instead of offering a proper solution, they suggested we spend four nights at a completely different hotel near JFK Airport (far from the city center) and only the last two nights at the hotel we originally booked. This was unacceptable, so we refused and requested a full refund.|Initially, they told us the refund would be processed. But shortly after, they canceled the refund, and now they pretend we were never even there.|We spoke with a staff member named Vanessa multiple times by phone — and now she acts like she has no idea who we are. |We have proof of everything: calls, emails, and the fact that we physically went to the hotel and spoke with two staff members, including the manager.|Luckily, we found a much better hotel after this disaster — but the way this place operates is absolutely unprofessional and dishonest. Avoid this hotel at all costs. They treat people with no respect, and it seems they have pulled this scam on several other guests as well.|We’ve contacted our bank and are taking legal action. If you care about your time, money, and peace of mind, do not book this...

My wife and I wanted to plan a special weekend in NYC. We usually stay at Ritz Carlotn in Central Park or Battery Park being the service is always over the top. When searching TripAdvisor we found some Great Reviews of the 414 Hotel. So I took the chance and decided to investigate further. Well let me tell you the experience of this property was OVER THE TOP AND THEN SOME. I already knew from the initial phone call and chat room experience that we were making the right choice. They were extremely accommodating providing restaurants to dine and things to do and all of this was done in an e-mail immediately after making the reservation. Once we arrived the hospitality was Exceptional to say the least it was like being greeted by family and they also knew it was my wife's Birthday and had a special surprise in the room that would have cost over $100 anywhere else. The morning Breakfast was nice and the Happy Hour time with Fireplace and interaction with other guest was also enjoyable. This location is hidden and a must stay for those that want service with a smile and then some. We liked it so much that we decided that whenever we stay in the city in the future we will call 414 Hotel our home as that is how they made us feel during the entire visit. Great Staff, Clean Rooms and Great Location. This property is the equivalent of any 5 Star Hotel we have stayed at and I wouldn't change a thing with this property it was simple and service exceeded all of our expectations and that makes all the difference in...
