I attend school nearby and started coming for hookah and reading. I usually read and smoke in Bk. I’ve been here maybe three times in the last year. The environment is good, but there appears to be two shifts with two different types of service. The person working during the day is great, accommodating and welcoming. The evening shift is a different story.
I came in today at about 7:30 during the day shift. I sat down. The young lady asked me to move to the end table and that she thought I would be more comfortable with my book bag. I moved and ordered. After about 30 mins, she let me know that she was closing out and wanted me to settle the bill. I paid the $75, for hookah, a service charge add on, and tip.
In comes the evening shift. The young lady working the evening shift tells me she wants me to move to another table. I let her know that I was already moved. She explained that I’m sitting at a table for four. I let her know that I understand, but I was moved to this table - I originally sat in a one person seat - but where do you want me to sit? There was likely a little bit of loss in translation, but I think it was clear that I was saying that I was moved to the seat by the person working.
I think likely both of us being frustrated, she just said ‘fine you stay there but if a bigger group comes in I need to move.’ The bar has about 10 people in it and numerous open tables, so me needing to move is neither a pressing issue or an issue likely to come up any time soon.
She then says something to the effect of, we have changed your coals two times. You get one more change and that’s it. My response: so you’re saying I’m no longer welcomed?
I think it’s a great ambiance. The previous negative reviews seem to be about this evening shift. I don’t understand how interacting with customer like this would either make me want to stay or spend another $75 for more hookah.
Probably will only come during the summer going forward or choose one of the other shops in the area — or stick to BK, where I’ve never felt a sense that I am impeding or over...

on their menu they have their birthday hookah for $65. Under the price it saids “package includes 2 flavors and 2 pitchers of your choice of cocktails” no other price is mentioned. As we were ordering we were surprised that the whole thing only cost $65, the female server at the time HEARD us ask if that was all included and she just smiled and mentioned the pitchers of cocktails we could ordered, so of course that’s what we did. When it was time to pay the bill, one of my friends went up and just handed the server the credit card. The server brought the receipt for her to sign and it said My friend paid $222!!! I go up to the server to find out what happened and her response is “I did the menu and that’s a mistake so the price is wrong” I DONT CARE IF YOU MADE THE MISTAKE, YOU HONOR IT AND SHE HAD THE AUDACITY TO HEAR US QUESTION THE PRICE AND SHE REMAINED QUIET, SHE KNEW WHAT THE HELL SHE WAS DOING. the next day I called to speak to the manager and he goes “I can’t give you the money back but you can come back and have everything for free” NOOOOO I WANT MY MONEY BACK. then continues to say “do you want me to fire the server? I will” again I response “I dont care what you do with her just give me my money back” he still refused so now i have to file a police report. I’m a server myself and that behavior is disgraceful.

Read moreSo I’ve been here 2-3 times before and had a good experience, but this last time I had a horrible experience that I’m embarrassed about.
I arrived with 5 others and we were asked if we had a reservation. We said no and the short guy said ok, we have a table but everyone has to drink and we have to buy 2 hookahs. We were ok with the hookah but a number of people in our group do not drink. They asked if they could order non-alcoholic drinks to cover the minimum or just not have drinks since they don’t drink. The guy then went to ask the woman inside who then proceeded to say everyone has to drink. We say ok fine, the 3 people who drink will order 2 and cover the other people’s minimum. She then says out of nowhere that the tables are reserved. The restaurant was more than half empty. It was confusing that 3 minutes earlier they had space as long as everyone was drinking but then miraculously they couldn’t seat us. That was fine but then we watched 3 people walk up without a reservation and they sat them and didn’t ask if everyone was drinking. It’s of note that the other group who walked in were not Black (my entire group was). Even one of the workers at the place said he wasn’t sure why this was happening. I hate to think that we were treated this way because we were a group of young black patrons but this seems to be...
