I had a positive experience in person once, which is why I decided to try delivery. It's across the street from my laundry and very convenient. I ordered my food to-go and really enjoyed it last time, so I was not prepared for what happened last night. Long story short: I'm extremely disappointed. $30+ for mediocre/poor delivery dining experience. I wouldn't recommend it.
I used the Seamless app to order a salmon burger. My eta was 50min. It took the maximum time to come. I was looking at my clock during the final 5min of my delivery eta and received a call from the restaurant saying that my delivery guy had attempted to call me multiple times with no answer. I told him this was untrue. When I went downstairs, my delivery guy was on a personal call... I'm fairly certain he never attempted me, even though I included directions in my order.
My food was packaged well and arrived warm. It was obvious that the burger was not fresh. I'm not sure why they charge so much for a frozen item not even made in-house, but anywho, it was overcooked. Also, it did not come with cheese and onion as advertised, only lemon wedges and pickle in a side, and the lettuce/tomato that I paid extra for. I didn't complain about this though because I realize that seafood is not this restaurant's specialty. Also, I ordered fish delivery, which I know can be hit or miss. Honestly, my issue was that there were no fries. It came with a mini sauce-sized container of coleslaw, 9 ketchup packets, plastic utensils and napkins for two, but no fries.
At first, when I called the restaurant (within minutes of receiving my order), they said "your ticket only says burger". I objected because the menu clearly indicated a platter, and they agreed to send my fries. I was encouraged! Because they obliged, I purchased a dessert as well. Unfortunately, this delivery was not any quicker than the first. I live one block up. My fries were very soggy. The cake was dry and the icing firm, so I knew it had been sitting out a while.
Pro: wide variety menu, locality, management addressed the issue Con: isolated menu items are NOT GOOD!!! Have a smaller menu with only what you do well. Also, don't try to scheme or...
Read moreDon't bother. After reading the mixed reviews I wanted to give it a try since we love a diner and live close by. Our expectations were low due to the reviews, but we still expected reasonable food and service. Apparently that was too much to ask. I ordered the Pastrami sandwich which was literally inedible. It was the worst pastrami sandwich I've ever attempted to eat. There was more fat than edible meat and it was beyond tough. My partner order a burger which should be easy for anyone. Again, wrong. The meat tasted as if it were thawed days before and then cooked or maybe even recooked/heated for serving. Not only is the food ridiculous, but the service is also lacking. We sat outside where there were a total of about 8-9 tables and at least 3 different guys working. With 3 people serving it was chaotic to say the least. Our food was delivered after two other tables that were sat after us received there food. It was challenging to get drink refills and even the check. There are too many mediocre options in the City to waste your money or time with this place. Hence, don't bother. They should sell out or close....
Read moreOne of the worst meals i have experienced in years! I had the chicken tenders my wife had a burger my sister had a chicken sandwich, everything was terrible! We stopped in here for lunch after visiting Intrepid. The chicken tenders were straight out of freezer into the fryer chicken nugget type. Had it not been for the honey mustard sauce they would have been inedible. They were so dry it made the pallet of my mouth sore. The burger was over cooked when we asked for medium, and the meet was a cheap frozen style patty. The chicken sandwich was so bad my sister couldn't eat more than half of it. Although the food was truly terrible the staff were average. We had to ask for refills. The thing that really peed me off was when they tried to hide a 20% tip as a service charge in the bill! I'm the customer I will decide the tip. For that behavior I immediately dropped the tip to 10% and I'm usually an 18-20% tipper. Based on the service here and not the food they would have least got 15% if they hadn't of tried to sneak the tip into the bill! All I can say is carry on walking there are lots of better places...
