We wanted a larger space to stay in and this place was perfect. 2 large sized bedrooms, both large enough for our toddlers pack n play bed as well as our dogs travel bed. The living/dining/kitchen was also nice size. The unit also had its own washer and dryer which was much needed for us. Lots of closet space for you to use. The bathroom had good pressure and temperature, but the vent/fan did not work.
Kitchen was fully stocked, there is a small supermarket in the building that you can use to stock or let them know ahead of time and they will stock your fridge. We cooked everyday for breakfast and sometimes for dinner.
Living room had a large pull out couch and 2 comfortable chairs. The TV oddly was smaller than the ones in the bedrooms, but it uses roku and has a lot of channels. We had a corner suite on the 6th floor so there was good lighting for us.
Bedrooms each had a large sized TV and windows. The large one had a safe for you to place your valuables in. Bed was comfortable, but we found the pillows to be softer than we would've liked.
The suite was well maintained and very clean. We used wipes to wipe down surfaces where our toddler would likely eat off of and it was very clean.
The building itself is so so beautiful. It houses multiple restaurants, a bar and a coffee shop. Check in was easy and access to the elevator and room is by pin which we had no issues with.
The surrounding area is quieter than where we would previously stay. Its NYC so there are restaurants all around. It was nice to be able to walk to parks and playgrounds. The red line was across the street from us and the green line was a short walk away.
The negative is... pine street is a tight one lane street and there is nowhere to pull over to unload your car. Because of this, you will hear honking throughout the day as drivers get frustrated with taxis and ubers dropping people off. The street behind the hotel is 2 lanes, but unfortunately the doors there are exit only. Parking is also not valet at the door, but it is close by, we did not use this.
Overall, we loved the space. Especially with a dog and a toddler who likes to wander around. The building lobby was a great place for them to do that. Price point wise, it was the most we paid to stay in NYC, likely would not return because of this... but that is more based on our finances rather than what this...
Read moreI chose to book this hotel for a short 2-night stay in Manhattan this past January 2020. I had already reserved a room elsewhere but found Lyric 70 the last minute and decided to contact them. I emailed to ask about the room and if I could do something special for my husband's birthday inside the room. I received a quick reply from the staff, specifically from a man named Robert, who answered all of my questions. Incredibly, he worked with me for about 2 weeks on a plan for my husband's birthday surprise, never missing an email or ignoring a detail. I decided quickly that this hotel was the place to be and booked! When we arrived for our stay we checked-in easily and made our way to the room. There were sweet, simple gifts for my husband and a darling little letter from the staff. I almost felt like it was my birthday too! We cannot thank Robert and the staff at Lyric 70 enough for what they did for us.
The room: Spacious and comfortable, super clean and quiet. HUGE kitchen, dining, and resting space. We even had an extra bedroom and walk-in closets. I am not sure it was the room I booked, it sure felt like an upgrade, but either way it was WOW. Not a big view from our windows but that was no issue due to the size of the room. We didn't feel suffocated at all.
Bathroom was very clean and comfortable. The shower didn't drain perfectly, a bit slow, but nothing to remark further about. The bathroom shampoo, body wash, and conditioner was so nice that I purchased some after our stay. Robes were comfortable!
Kitchen has everything you need. No olive oil but we made it work. Coffee is great and the maker is super chic. :)
Bed is amazingly comfortable. We were jetlagged beyond belief so that was heavily appreciated.
Finally, the record player and sound system were pretty good.
The building Lyric 70 at Pine is in is quite cool too, art deco style. Check it out!
Thank you again to the staff at Lyric 70 at Pine for everything you did for us. We will be back whenever we come to...
Read moreFirst off we stayed many times when this was the Q&A and thought it was outstanding. We stopped staying here in April of 2018. They started using a different service for their bedding and my daughter had a reaction to it. At least that's what the manager and I surmised. Since then we have stayed at the Assemblage which has the large square footage as well as the kitchen. Although it does not have an oven. When hearing that the Q &A had new ownership we decided to try again. It is much closer to the office on Water. Well..we were not pleasantly surprised. The living space in our room is wonderful. We like the new white walls..they helped somewhat with the dark feel of the rooms. The kitchen is almost exactly the same. The issues we had are as follows. Our first evening, my daughter went to take a shower and her bathroom tub was full of water and sludge. We called Engineering and they worked on it for over an hour....plunging and plunging while we ate our dinner. 🤮 we were than told that he had to leave and he would tell the front desk. Waited for a call from the front desk and never received one. Finally we called down and they said someone would be up first thing the next morning. So we got up early and waited. Called down at 9 and they said noone was here yet. Finally at 11:15 someone came. We were annoyed. No call from management...no apology from management. Not like Q&A at all. Btw...the toilet in the master bath was not working either. He fixed that as well. The other is no tv in the bedroom. I get it...when I'm home I don't want a tv in my room. When I'm in a hotel... um...yes! So...is saving yourself a few steps and having an oven worth it? We will see....oh...and I would come from anywhere in the city to the...
