I came upon this Church when I was in the Financial District recently on business. It is a beautiful Church simply but effectively decorated and in the midst of a very busy day I was able to find calm and solitude within the Church. There were about a dozen people in the Church in late afternoon on a weekday; it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. They DID pipe in on very low volume some western Christian chants which added to the atmosphere. I am an Orthodox Christian; we do not have statuary in our Churches, so I found those few that were there a little jarring. BUT you soon realize that you are in a House of God and that you are there in His presence, in a place of refuge and calm. The juxtaposition of a large Investment Bank, across the street from the Church is always amusing!
