As someone mentioned earlier, they sneak relaxer into their products. I used to go to them a while back when they had their original prices but stopped. There's 3 of them. The one who speaks the most English, I believe her name is Yahaira, was the nicest and always gentle with my hair. Blanca was alright but the one I had the most issues with was the hairstylist who only speaks spanish. She doesn't know I understand it and I like to keep it that way so I know who I'm dealing with. I have so many stories of this woman being disrespectful and spiteful but Yahaira always made me want to come back with her kindness and professionalism.
One incident with this woman, (idk her name) was when I came in with my makeup done and was getting a wash and set. She stared at me and said to Blanca, "mirala" and started snickering before saying "come mami." I was hoping Blanca would be doing my hair but she chose to instead. As she's washing my hair I can feel her rubbing my forehead as if rubbing something off. She began laughing and said "mira mira." Blanca looked uneasy and the lady goes, "Es una broma 😂" When I saw myself in the mirror she had rubbed a lot of my makeup from my forehead and eyebrows off.
As far as the relaxer, I started washing my hair at home because I didn't like how dry and unhealthy my scalp was feeling after these appointments. I frequented this salon A LOT out of convenience but when I washed my hair at home, I immediately smelled the unmistakable scent of relaxer/perm. The only service I would ever request in that salon was a wash and set because I don't get relaxers, texturizers, or perms. I expressed my concerns to Yahaira and started bringing my own large bottles of shampoo and conditioner for them to use. The fact that I was doing that, I knew I...
Read moreExtremely disappointed. I went to get a blow out and press. They charged me $90 and my texture is completely different after letting them wash my hair. I am pretty certain that they put relaxer or some sort of texture release in the shampoo without telling you. Now my curls are less curly.
Im glad my hair is not completely damaged and with time and care I can bring my hair pack to health. If you are a natural girl who likes to wear her hair kinky/coily DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON. If you do decide to go bring your own shampoo and conditioner don't let them use their own.
The service itself was great and they are gentle but they should be upfront with their new customers rather than...
Read moreThis is my second time coming here and these hair dressers are wonderful. They are so polite, pleasant, and they listen to what you want and do nothing more or less. They don't try to sell you no products, they allow you to bring your own with no problem. I asked them to do a twist out, something that's not on their menu but they kindly did it with me just showing them how I usually do it myself. I think I finally found a place I can...
