I booked a 2 room suite with 2 Queen beds for my 10 year old daughter and 4 of her friends to have some fun for her birthday. I noticed that there were ALOT of children and ALOT of families moving around in the hotel, in the halls, pool and exercise room and the middle of the lobby. I thought, “Wow, this place is really family/ kid friendly”. As there were several kids screaming, playing and running around the middle of the lobby, where the “happy hour” takes place. No one seemed to be bothered by the children in the lobby who were playing, running and screaming. We went to swim and the pool area was freezing and there were no clean towels. When I called the desk and requested towels, the lady whom checked me in got snappy and said that towels were just stocked in the pool, suggesting that we use the towels that were just “dropped off”. There were dirty towels all over the pool area, however no clean towels. There was a maintenance guy who was present at the time and witnessed the “attitude” from the front desk lady. We looked at each other and he said “I know” and disapproved of the manner in which the front desk person spoke to me. The maintenance guy then went and brought back 10 clean towels to the pool, even though it was only 5 of my kids in the pool. He said that he would be back to see what he could do about the cold temperature in the pool area. The kids didn’t swim long because it was quite cold in the pool area and they were shivering. Later on in the night, the kids went to get ice and got a little excited in the hall. The same front desk lady came up to my room, very confrontational, stating that she had received 3 phone calls about my room and my children. Which I was confused because aside from us going to the pool, the first time my kids had been out of the room, was when they went to the ice machine, which they were a little loud and excited. There had to be some sort of mix up because in the 4 hours we’d been there, my kids had been rather quiet. I explained to the lady that I would keep them quiet and apologized. The lady noticed that I had a few extra kids in the room, and asked how many people I had in my room, stating that only 6 people were allowed and she would be charging me $50 per additional person. I explained that they stopped by to see my daughter for her birthday and my sister would be returning shortly to take them home. The lady continued her rudeness and demanded to know a specific time of when they were leaving. I again reassured her that it would be shortly . She then said if she got any more complaints, we would be asked to leave. I assured her that there would not be any issues and just knew that there had to be a mixup. She then left and about 15 mins later, My sister arrived to take her kids home and before she could leave, There was loud and aggressive banging on the door. When I opened it. I was greeted by 3 police officers and 4 more were coming up the elevator. They stated they received a call about a disturbance and we were to be escorted off the property. When the officer saw that my 10 year old daughter and her guests were visibly terrified and in tears, he apologized and said that the call he received said nothing about small children. The other responding officers were too very surprised that they were called for 9 and 10 year old children. They seemed quite confused, as was I. The officers stated that they were under the impression that it was a college party and they were there to break up loud music, smoking and drinking…not 9 and 10 year olds who were eating pizza and watching a movie. After just 4 hours of being in the hotel, around 11 pm, we were told to leave the property and would be charged for 1 night. The officer kept saying how bad he felt and that there was clearly a mixup. He seemed to not understand why the front desk lady would give me a “warning” and right after, call the police. To make matters worse, I go down to the desk to find the front desk lady and the woman who was coming on her shift at 11pm, talking and laughing about what...
Read moreThe hotel rooms were large, clean, and comfortable. Have a great quality breakfast to start each day with was fantastic. The staff here is wonderful.
I had my wedding here with about 150 guests. We spent Friday- Sunday in the hotel. I would absolutely recommend this venue for any event you may host or trip you may take.
Having my rehearsal dinner, hotel block, photos, ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in one place made my wedding day so easy.
The staff put in so much effort to making my day perfect. Every detail was accounted for by the staff. My guests raved about how delicious the food was.
It was amazing having the ballroom and atrium available for my event. People could step into the atrium to grab a drink, take a break, have a chat, take pictures during the reception. The ballroom was perfect for all of the formalities, dances, speeches, and all of that good stuff. When it was party time, the staff dimmed the lights and let us party the night away.
Having the TGI Fridays attached the venue seemed cheesy at first, but it was amazing to keep the party going after my rehearsal dinner and wedding. Most of my guests gabbed late night drinks and snacks after the festivities. It was really easy for my guests to have lunch there as they came in from their travels.
The staff was very supportive of us having as a good a time as possible. There was never a complaint about noise or craziness as my friends and family partied the whole weekend. Even the front desk staff was excited about my wedding. They were very friendly and accommodating with every request. I was even told later that one of the hotel staff was keeping an eye on guests to ensure they did not drink and drive. Thankfully, most of the people at my wedding stayed at the hotel, so people had the time of their lives without any risk.
This venue includes so much in their wedding package that would have cost us thousands of dollars to have to obtain separately. Wedding cake, floral center pieces, champagne toast, breakfast, chair covers, colored napkins and chair sashes. Other vendors wanted to upcharge for every little thing they could, but this embassy suites includes it all in their wedding package for an extremely reasonable cost. We shopped around at 6 other hotel venues between Delaware an Philly. This venue by far provided the most at the best price.
If you are on the fence about where to host your wedding, you will absolutely not go wrong hosting your wedding here. It is the perfect venue to have the easiest and most fun wedding you...
Read moreIf this is the new Hilton standard I won't be staying with their hotels anymore. Appearance wise the hotel looks very nice but once you get inside the issues begin. We booked this hotel as a special overnight trip for our 10 yr old to enjoy one last trip before school started. Our plan was to enjoy the hotel amenities and enjoy family time. We used the app and checked in and select our room. We arrived at 3:30, check in was at 3. Our room wasn't ready. When asked why when check in was at 3 and we selected our room several hours earlier we were told 3pm was just a start time but not a guarantee. Rooms can be ready anytime after 3. When we finally got our room the next issue occurred. There is only 1 working elevator. Reviews going back months say the same thing so apparently fixing the other elevator is too much hassle for them. The room was nice lacking. We needed to call the front desk to request bedding for the sofa bed and pillows since the room only had 3. Also, the digital directory said the pool was closed for maintenance. This was very disappointing because my 10 yr old wanted to swim. When I called for the bedding I asked how long the pool would be closed. The attendant said she would check and call right back. She never did. It took hours to get the bedding. We walked down to look at the pool. The hot tub was taped off with yellow caution tape and the pool was cloudy with foam clusters. Finally we just decided to go to bed. We had a mobility room but the set up was flawed because there was nowhere for my husband to plug is cpap machine in. I called the front desk to see if they had an extension cord and they laughed and said no. We pulled out the sofa bed and it was lopsided with a dirty sheet on it. We made the bed however my son couldn't sleep on it. Certain ways he moved the bed lifted off the floor. I was afraid he would get hurt on it. Eventually my 10 yr asked to go home. My husband went to the front desk to complain but they were of no help so we checked out at 11 that night. The front desk also said the pool was open the whole time we were there but if that was open then no thank you. It was just a disaster from service to amenties, etc. We were told someone would call us about a refund but no one has. I'm really not surprised. I would look elsewhere if you want to stay...
