From the very beginning my stay at this hotel was off to a bad start. We arrived at 12:24pm and attempted to check in. The lady working the desk was on a cell phone so she didn't acknowledge our arrival. Then the desk phone starts ringing so someone comes to answer that and talk to them before acknowledging us standing there. I told her I was there to check-in and my name and she quickly stated they just had check-out and had no rooms available. When pushed she said she could check with housekeeping to see but it was clear she had no interest in doing so. We asked her when a room would be available and she said 2:30. Since we now needed to find something to do for 2 hours we asked her if she knew of anything to do in the area and she said she didn't. Turns out this useless person who knew nothing about the area is the hotel manager, Lisa. Later we discovered a rack of pamplets with info about things to do in the area but she didn't think to mention it. When we returned to check-in we got stuck with her again and this time she was being sarcastic and rude. At this point I would have left if I had not already booked and paid online.
On one of the days of our stay there was a fire before 9am in the morning so while everyone is making their way down the stairs Lisa the manager is standing in the stair case texting on her phone. When asked what was going on she said she didn't know! Isn't it a managers job to know what is going on with the hotel they are being paid to manage?
We stayed in a suite but there were a few problems. Everytime the ac turns on it sounds like someone with work boots is kicking it, which is exceptionally great when you are trying to sleep. Also the water is much louder than it should be and anytime someone above or below you uses the water it sounds like someone turned the TV to a channel of static and turned the volume up. Also the kitchen faucet would drip off and on no matter how tightly you turn the nobs. The freezer started making a weird noise to compete with all the other unneeded noises in the room. While trying to take a shower the water pressure and temperature kept fluctuating so that was fun! The beds were very soft and comfortable though which was perfect for me but too soft for my husband's liking.
Also be careful leaving the hotel because the exits to the road dip at too much of an angle so you can hear the scraping of your car on the pavement.
Everyone on the housekeeping staff as well as the maintenance staff were great. They were all friendly and polite and more than willing to help with anything. In 7 days of eating breakfast at this hotel only once did a member of the staff speak to me and ask if I needed anything. The food was dissapointing, I mean my wishes are simple give me some bacon and scrambled eggs. But here you get turkey sausage that is oddly sweet and egg white omelets with peppers. You can make your own waffles if you feel like waiting in line forever since there are 2 waffle makers and more than 200 rooms in this hotel. No matter what time you go or the day of the week the breakfast area simply is not large enough for the amount of people. Other than Lisa and the majority of the breakfast staff everyone else was great. And one final thing for those that made it this far, all the elevators are way past due for inspections! So ride at...
Read moreI had some work in the area and booked 24 nights at this hotel.I am a diamond member . I had checked In digitally on my Hilton app , chose a room on higher floor but it never showed my room ready even after 3pm. So I had to check in person at the front desk which is fine and no big deal. What's the point of digital check in? During my first week of stay, I didn’t receive proper house keeping service even after talking to the front desk in person and on phone from the room . Very poor communication between front desk and house keeping department? I saw Hairs on bathroom floor and I called to have proper cleaning , an English speaking house keeping supervisor comes to my room and says “this is ridiculous “ few times to me. Went down and spoke to Macy Arriola , so called “ guest service manager” to have house keeping service but she was very rude and told me “ “go stay at another hotel if you don’t like it here!” From that day on, I rarely ever looked back at the front desk employee and it gave me very bad vibe . How can they talk.to their guests like this ? no courtesy or respect for your customers ? I left voicemail to the general manager Richard sasso and he never reached out to me . I had to extend my stay in the area for another week and called the manager but they lied to me about calling back the next day . As a guest with lots of choice , I don’t care if they don’t want my business . But all these shows how terribly they deal with their guests . They act as if their run a 1 star motel or something like that . I forgot her name but one of the front desk lady was super nice, frank and helped me print some papers from the printing machine . I started to receive proper House keeping service after the first week and I don’t blame the house keeping ladies for lack of proper communication from the front desk employees . These house keeping ladies are hard working and good. The breakfast is just about average. The one laundry machines on 6 and 3rd floor don’t work. The dryers have no heat and I had to dry the clothes in my room. I tried drying them twice using coins for the 2nd time and it is the same wet clothes. I called them to have someone come up to check, they don't like to hear from customers and someone comes and says "good" and leaves without coming to check again and see for himself. It was just a waste of lots of coins and your time. The Wifi in room is something you have to manually connect every day on each devices you are using. There is a woman who looked like a homeless person and she seems to be a permanent guess at this hotel. With poor management ,rude manager and poor amenities, I don't recommend this hotel for a stay longer than...
Read moreBEWARE…OVERCHARGED….…This Hampton Inn, located in Skokie, IL, off Old Orchard Road will inform you of a room rate then charge another rate. I just found out my stay was overcharged over $4,000 (four thousand plus dollars). I discussed with Hampton Inn in Skokie,IL, Staff, who also discovered the overcharge and agreed to refund the money. By the way ALL of The Hampton Inn Staff Members are professional, knowledgeable, friendly and have outstanding customer service.* So when I was informed that the difference between the overcharge and the standard advertised rate would not be refunded, because the General Manager Brad decided otherwise, I was shocked. I reached out to Corporate, that was useless and a waste of my time. I reached out to the hotel front desk to find Brad who was conveniently present but not accessible. I kindly asked if Brad would be given a message to return my call, I was told yes. Brad has not returned my call. I messaged Brad on his phone number and Brad has not returned my call. I’m going to report these shady antics to Illinois Attorney General and see how they will assist in these dishonest practices Brad has yet to address. I’d advise anyone and/or Organization who has paid for a stay at The Hampton Inn, located in Skokie, IL, for longer than 30 days to look at their charges. The King , 1 bedroom Suite, with/without the whirlpool is $129. It’s a standard advertised rate. Any qualifying extended stay has a standard rate. BEWARE of being overcharged. Brad might not approve a refund with this fraudulent activity. But Brad did tell his staff to honor the advertised $129 moving forward from the date I caught in to the overcharge (on the same day he refused the refund of the overcharged difference). Brad has not reached out to me directly regarding over $4,000, which now has affected the payment for hotel accommodations, causing me to be without a paid reservation and locked out, because of the...
