We have stayed here several times. Sometimes for 3 days and sometimes over a month. My husband has stage 4 colon cancer and has been fighting since he was 37. This place is very reasonable in price. It also has a kitchenette that saves us money on eating out and we are able to prepare healthier meals for my husband. It is partners up with America Cancer Society as well which has helped us out again on price. Bc maintaining a home and staying 4 hours away from home for treatment is so costly we are thankful for the savings we have received through them. Cleanliness- most rooms are clean when we arrive. House keeping comes once a week here. That is fine for us. But this last month they came 1’time and then I had to chase down housekeeping to borrow cleaning supplies which is not always easy when your at the hospital all day. The front desk seems to get really busy and there doesn’t seem to be enough help for them to stay caught up and remember everything everyone needs which often causes several trips to the front desk. Also our last room had mold in the bathroom which I’m not happy about due to my husbands cancer and breathing problems. There were several little things that after a while of staying somewhere get to be annoying that they are not being fixed. Staff- I feel like the staff are nice and polite for the most part. We did have some major issues the last 10 days we where there though. A few of the staff were absolutely outstanding. Manager I was not impressed with after this last visit at all. Security- I can honestly say the last week we where here I literally made sure my family back home knew everything I was doing and everything that was going on bc this place had me scared to death my husband or I were going to be jumped or mugged. I have not felt that anywhere else up in the area that we have been for his treatment and doctor visits. There is very limited camera. In fact I could not find one camera on the 2nd floor at all. We had a situation where a women and her spouse started harassing my husband. I think they thought he had drugs. Maybe because he is skinny from his cancer or maybe bc he has cancer idk. But we went to manager with our complaints. The women would not let my husband out of the car in the parking lot with I don’t believe has any cameras. After we talked to manager the problem got worse. And the manager was outside smoking with these people. Well what we learned is the man is a panhandler and they both are drug addicts and get very agitated when they are out of drugs. They have a small child that is left in their room while they panhandle to pay for their room and drug habit daily. Well all this is very scary to 2 people from the county. And other guests complained as well for numerous reasons. Why are these people still allowed to stay and why is the manager taking her breaks with them???? My previous review was glowing bc this place helped make it possible for us to get my husband’s treatment. At this point we are trying to figure how we are going to afford the price of another place to stay while we are up there. We have to go a minimum of 2 times a month for 3 nights at least. And sometimes we have to stay there for a month or longer. So I’m deeply disappointed and hope that something changes so we can go back. But at this time I would not recommend this place. If you have a short stay spend the extra money for another hotel. A long stay maybe Airbnb. That is what I’m checking into next.

Room was filthy, when we when to let the person at the front desk know he did absolutely nothing. There was a housekeeper right next to him so she asked what room was I talking about and when I told her they both looked at each other and whispered the housekeepers name that “cleaned” it. So when I asked what was going to happen the front desk guy said he was going to come up the room later I said okay that I would be back soon. When I came back I asked him again so what happened his response was that he was going to send housekeeping tomorrow. The next day came, no one came to my room. I had to go out and buy cleaning products just to feel somewhat better since I was staying for a couple more nights. When we asked for a swap on our hotel towels that even took forever we had to wait an extra day just to get clean towels. The elevator was dirty and had stains all on the floor, the door made a really bad jerking sound when it was time to open. The hallways had scraps of paper and garbage. There were young kids sitting outside of rooms crying for their parents with no adult supervision around. It was one of the worst experiences me and my family ever had. This was our third time there and it will be our last. Place is going downhill unfortunately.

The only high rating here is the location. Being off of 94 you can easily access everything. The smell, the smell, the smell. I wouldn’t use the draws or unpack. I was afraid it would come with me. Walls are so thin. I spent my time listening to the little girl next door cry. No water pressure in the shower or HOT water. I don’t think the bathrooms have been redone ever! The faucets were literally my childhood faucets. Room was super dusty which was great since I have a dust allergy. Had to clean toothpaste off of bathroom mirrors when I first got there. My room number was announced in a lobby full of people. It’s like a smokers convention as soon as you walk out of the door. This also carries into the hotel. Kids running around like it Chuck E. Cheese during the day. 24” tvs in the room. Maybe 32” but nothing more than that. Sheets had stains. Rug had stains. Had to constantly take lid off of toilet to get it to flush. Tub had stains. Do yourself a favor stay somewhere else. UPDATE. THE MANAGER DID CALL ME TO LISTEN AND TRY TO MAKE THINGS BETTER WHICH I APPRECIATE.

I initially enjoyed my stay at the Extended Stay aside from the minor cosmetic issues with the room, such as the curtain coming off of the wall on one side and you could not open the windows they were so jammed. All there was for fresh air was about a one and a half inch crack at the bottom of the window. Aside from Lia at the front desk, I would say the staff is mediocre. Lia she definitely goes above and beyond way for the guests. The only problem that I had which was a huge problem was with the manager, Crystal.; I'm not sure if she has had some traumatizing experience with insects or spiders as a child but because of whatever phobia she has made the last few weeks of staying at the hotel and absolute nightmare for me. I stayed at the hotel for almost 2 months because I'm in between apartments. I have physical and mental disabilities that are manageable using national support animal treatment. I work in the field of entomology and my pet collection of exotic invertebrates and arachnids are used in hands on educational programs and workshops that provide children of all ages and disabilities and opportunity to see and touch amazing and kid friendly tarantulas, phasmids, and other inverts. Well apparently Crystal had a problem with me keeping my pets at the hotel because she gave me such a f* hard time and was checking my packages because I would get deliveries a few deliveries and so she would check the boxes to see what was in there and she also entered my room without my permission or without my knowledge to see what I had going on inside my room and granted I do have quite a few but they're all in contained in enclosures and not of any threat to guests at the hotel. I tried reasoning with her because I seriously do not have anywhere else to go and I had just completed an application to get an apartment and I was going to be out in a matter of a couple of days but she was very unreasonable and she wanted me out that day and did not give me any chance at all to speak and explain to her the situation and very very unreasonable so because I have disabilities I have Trilogy behavioral health is my treatment group they were called and also Crystal called and complained the Catholic charities which is how I was able to stay at the hotel being approved for program due to my disability and homelessness well she put the kibosh on that support by making it sound like I was disobedient and my behavior was unacceptable with my pets so they stopped providing support thanks b****. So in a matter of 3 hours everything I owned and all my animals were all tossed into bags and buckets and tubs and thrown onto Vans and stuff and in all this chaos I one of my tarantulas got lost in the hotel room and I still do not have him and I'm extremely upset about the way this was handled and I just basically did not have a choice I did not have a voice and I surely did not have any justice or my rights acknowledged because I thought that I was should be given a 30-day notice. Im staying at a f* storage unit right now. I need to find my tarantula this is a horrible situation and I'm sick to my stomach thinking about what could happen to him. I wasn't harming anyone I wasn't bothering anyone it's just because one stupid b** personal vendetta has caused me to be discriminated against and looked down upon because of my preference in pets was just absolutely awful and I will be contacting her corporate office and her superiors regarding...

I had a very bad experience with an employee at the Skokie location. He said “ I’m done talking to you shorty” and slammed the employee lounge door in my face. I was appalled and flabbergasted that someone in an establishment would talk to a 50 year old woman like this. This is what happened:

I came home from work at 2 am. I asked my son to let me in. The door where I park at is never key accessible after a certain time, and the time I came back was 2 am. He woke out of his sleep to let me in, he left the door propped open for me to come in He did that, so I can get all my belongings. I do not leave the door propped open over night. He pretty much accused me of being the person that leaves the door propped open over night all the time nightly.

I went to the front desk to take the general managers contact card to contact her and to make a complaint. He comes out of the employee lounge and asks do I need help aggressively. I said hey let me ask you a question. You believe I’m the one that leaves the door open nightly because I come home from work at this time? He said probably and I say this door is not key accessible after a certain time. My son had to let me in. He leaves it open so I can get all my belongings. I told him not to accuse me of doing this as the person to leave the door propped open nightly. He said I’m done talking to you shorty and slams the door in my face from his employee lounge while he was talking to someone on his phone. Wow. Wow!!!!! I can’t believe this is an employee here. Doesn’t know how to talk to residents that have been here awhile. I have never been “dismissed” w out an actual understanding of what we are takkkng about. They have to stop smoking weed on the job. Being high at work. I’ve seen this guy outside smoking weed. Did I report it? Nope. But I am now. He is arrogant, doesn’t give 2 craps of the consequences of him talking like he’s talking to his younger siblings. That’s the only way anyone can get away w talking to someone that way. Very...
