Adagio Teas — Restaurant in Niles Township

I purchase samples from them when they popped up on facebook literally over a year ago and I waited two weeks, never got them, emailed them, they asked me to wait another week even though I could clearly see from the tracking number that they left New Jersey and never went any further. I waited two weeks, because I got busy, still never got them, messaged them back on both email and via their website, never got a response, decided it wasn't worth it but they kept sending me their stupid promotional emails even after I tried unsubscribing. I started reading their reviews and realized that many others had this same issue and that they are known for their poor excuses and customer services, so I rekindled the complaint, was told I'd be refunded, never got it, so I filed a complaint with the BBB which caused them to respond giving me some sorry excuse about how my initial message got lost because it goes to generic customer service (uh, where else would it go?), and then tried to blame the post office for the problem. I have had 9 different teas + a sample pack with a bunch of others from Adagio Teas. I'm a fruit tea person mostly but started drinking green teas for caffeine. I wanted something that was easy/pleasant to drink like a fruit tea and have been very satisfied with Adagio Teas.

I think Adagio makes nice quality tasty tea. They have a lot of choice, which is a bit tough if you are like me and easily overwhelmed, but the sample packs are useful and efficient for navigating that. Having out what I like (using the samplers), I find reordering easy and convenient.

I like the citron + citrus mint green teas and their jasmine teas. I also enjoy the fruit teas, although the ones in the pack I got (Orchard Herbals I think) taste pretty much the same :). Some of the green teas from the sample pack were a bit bitter or grassy, but the pack helped me figure out which ones work for me so I recommend it nonetheless.

The custom tea blends are fun. I got one as a gift and like it, but there are a lot so I don't know how I would pick one myself. There is a filtering function to search through custom blends but again a lot of choice and tough to sort...

My favorite place to buy tea. I love that it’s JUST tea and no coffee. Helpful and attentive staff who are incredibly knowledgeable. I learned so much about tea from Erika in particular.. She’s a genius. The selection is incredible- they really have everything under the sun, with options of loose leaf or bagged. You can smell all of the teas as well which is nice. As a black tea enthusiast, there’s nothing I love more than some fine black tea, and Adagio really meets my needs. They have a good rewards system and give free loose leaf samples with every purchase, usually a sample matching something similar to something you bought, so chances are you would like it. Only problem with that is you need a strainer for loose leaf teas in order to enjoy the samples, and not everybody has one, myself included. However it’s a very nice gesture from the store so it’s not worth a complaint- it’s not a big deal to buy a strainer and I plan to get one soon.
