I’m deeply disappointed with the NorthShore Health System. Every visit for bloodwork involves unbearably long waits, compounded by the lack of an appointment system at their busiest locations. This makes the experience frustrating and inefficient, especially for a community of over 70,000 residents.
The staff is incredibly friendly and professional, but they’re put in an impossible position, constantly dealing with unhappy patients while being overworked themselves. Every visit includes the same refrain: “We’re short-staffed.” Having just one phlebotomist available for so many patients is unacceptable.
This system feels focused on profit rather than patient care. NorthShore is the only hospital system available in our area, leaving us with no alternatives. This lack of competition means the system has little incentive to improve.
