Where do i start? This was the worst hotel expierence ive EVER had. I booked a stay at rodeway from july 4 thru the 9th , i needed a pet room because my cat just got out of emergency vet care for respritory arrest and needed his meds twice a day plus his asthma inhaler. Before i go into details i currently work for a choice hotel out of state. So im aware of policys etc. On day 3 of my stay i get a call from the front desk that my card wouldnt authorize my stay..ok ill try and figure it out ..the manager was a complete you know what...and yelled i need a card that authorizes the room or you gotta go..im in a panic because im an hour from home with no vehicle and my cat has never been outside he is in bad health..well we got thrown out ..i politely gatherd my things and proceeded to wait for my father who was in route an hour away.it was 90° outside so im walking my cat in the grass out back of the hotel , my husband says we gotta get off the property or we are trespassing ..are you SERIOUS??? My cats never been outside hes sick im already upset then they couldnt even be kind enuf to just let us wait outback for an hour . They didnt have to i guess but they acted like i was trying to get a free stay i wasnt i was willing to pay for the whole stay the other lady i talked to told me ummm ur gonna have to leave if u cant pay right now theres so many details ugh..she said my housekeepers are alergic to cats im thinking whos gonna clean the room then? I work for choice hotels and booked the room with my employee discount i was not trying to get in trouble and worse fired because i couldnt pay for the room ive stayed a few times and they never charge my card until i leave. Im beyond upset , i asked could we stay in the confrence room with my cat because of his asthma and hes never been outside she said nope..heartless thats what and i will never stay there again and its not about me its about my cat really..i was leaving...why kick me off the property??? I wasnt or didnt cause a scene which i should have ..if i wasnt working for a hotel and using an employee discount they would have had to call the cops i dont care how they treated me and the way they delt with the situation was out of line..lastly ...the whole managment and staff should be...
Read moreNever again will I stay here. My room was on the second floor at the front of the building and it was so noisy with traffic that I was unable to sleep. After the first sleepless night, I asked the night shift clerk if I could be moved. She was pleasant and requested that I wait until the day shift clerks came on duty. That was the only pleasant staff interaction I had. The two day shift clerks were rude, condescending, and extremely unhelpful. When I stated that the room was very noisy, one of the clerks immediately became defensive and irritated. She questioned my view of noisy rooms and displayed open irritation. I stated that I was not used to sleeping by a busy highway and that the noise was enough to wake me up multiple times during the night. I was then advised that if they did move me to the back, I would just be placed next door to a bar with a noisy sand volleyball court. At that point, the openly hostile clerk walked away and that was it. No apologies, and unless I made a giant stink, she was done with me and my noise problem. Since I needed a room for two more nights, I decided to find a room elsewhere. Unfortunately for me, most of the rooms in town were booked and what rooms were available were super expensive. My next two nights were as noisy as the first and I left there exhausted every morning to go to work. And don't get me started on the breakfast---they don't even try. Every morning it was the same--gravy, biscuits, processed egg patties, sausage, and a mystery meat I think might have been a processed ham product. Trying to get a cup of coffee was just sheer luck and the last morning I was there I was only able to get a splash in the bottom of my cup. The person doing the breakfast just seemed to be bothered to have to refill anything and obviously didn't like their job.
I am going to be needing rooms frequently in the upcoming months but I will not be staying here after this. The noisy room, the hostile and unfriendly staff, and the terrible food--why torture yourself...
Read moreStaff were courteous, accommodating especially Alicia. One of the cleanest rooms we have stayed in the last 3 years, including at the Rodeway Inns in Fargo ND, Omaha NE, and Fort Morgan CO. I have stayed at the Rodeway Inn in Norfolk in the past and occasionally found it less clean than on this stay. I will be in Norfolk at least once more this summer for business and personal reasons, and definitely plan to stay at the Rodeway Inn.
I did not a crack on the back of the shower head that let a course spray out the back. The shower head was hard to adjust possibly due to corrosion. Reported to desk upon check out and they made a note to have it checked immediately.
A suggestion I make to any motel I stay in. I am in my 70's and my wife has had hip surgery so we are very concerned about falls. It would be helpful to have a grab bar on the wall side of the stall to hold onto when turning or stooping. Also, the taller toilet stools make it easier to arise from the toilet if there is no grab bar by the toilet. The standard lower toilet stools are hard to get up from if you are tall and your knees are higher than the toilet seat when you are seated.
Thank you for taking my suggestions into consideration and congratulate your housekeeping and front desk staff for a job well-done. You may use my comments if you wish for your...
