El Mezcal — Restaurant in Norfolk

Truly disgusted Food is great but if I taste my food and I see servers ganged up on another employee Speaking to them in Spanish and bringing them down ultimately and discouraging employees from wanting to work and come back to this place Is sad I have never seen a more disorganized place of work then this Service is great but as a customer if I see my server being mis treated I myself would not recommend coming to place of work to eat when I see this behavior. All women and MALE MANAGERS ganged up on two employees The disrespect level is high. To think this place makes its servers work and work till their hands bleed is truly sad, no different from the long hours abused by seniors in this job as well as jobs like AWG AND GREAT DANE. This city itself needs a clean up and wake up call on what treating employees and it’s customers is about. How disgusted I am, to the core to say this place is great however from now seeing the true colors of its owners and it’s senior employees The trash talk that goes on in this place is so visual and everyone can hear it especially Hispanics. I gave it one star Because until you treat your employees with respect this place will shut down! How dare you serve me food and upset my waiter because your owner and managers lack respect for two employees and I see this everyday passing by to eat and cannot stomach it. It hurts me as a fellow customer service rep to see this. No phone number to call higher then the owner named Arturo and Briello. These two men need to start respecting their employees. Including marina and the short lady who’s like 4 feet pushing and shoving other employees I can see why this is not a corporate because everyone promoting this disgusting behavior and abusive work place will NEVER SUCCEED IN THE CORPORATE WORLD BECAUSE WE APPRECIATE THE EMPLOYEES WHO WORK NOT DISRESPECT THEM INFRONT OF ME WHILE EATING. If ur reading this know I will do everything in my power to shut this place down until the owners and managers as well as some of the employees who created their little gangs and factions at work turning and promoting a toxic environment has gone to far and thus needs disciplinary action ASAP! I pray that those two employees whom have taken this abuse for so long find the heart to leave or contact me. I am truly disgusted

Never have I ever seen such disrespect towards a place of works employees especially two whom I have been taken care by Angel and Rachael Highly mistreated and disrespected. I am contacting the city after this review because Norfolk is beyond behind the times and until we can fix how everyone in this city treats each other and customers we as a city cannot achieve anything great at this rate

Food was really good but the manager made my nephew cry because he scolded my 8 year nephew multiple times for wanting to try something that wasnt on the kids menu and immediately snapped on me asking why he got something that wasn't on the kids menu. Mind you my nephew is 8 so he dont order off the kids menu much. My 9 year old did and was thrown off with how small it was. I told him its cause he ordered from the kids menu. Around this age they are growing and can eat. He's had similar from another resturants and liked it so he didnt know he wouldn't like it. unpleased that they could treat my nephew like that and that was a manager and from other reviews I have read they delt with the same situation like that. My waitress asked me If I wanted water after my drink and I said yes, than I even asked her for one after she didn't bring it and I still didn't receive it. Not only that but the portion size for lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream was ridiculous. I had barely even enough for one fajita shell. Sucks that they had good food but will never get my business again after thinking that was okay. Could have simply told me that was just something he could do this time but next time no but instead singled out my 8 year old nephew. I have not experienced something this bad as long as ive been alive. Usually places take your food back if you barely ate it and try to make you a happy customer. This place definitely doesnt care about keeping their custumers happy. Not kid friendly in the slightest. They have other one star reviews...

If I could give 0 stars I would. Very first time ever being there with my son and I am not impressed one bit. My sister simply asked since my son did not like his food if it could be sent back and he just get an order of shrimp. Instead of saying no or being polite he singled out my son damn near got in his face, snap on my sister and repeated over and over to my 8 year old son very unprofessionally that he is not allowed to order anything that wasn't on the kids menu if we decided to come back again. His attitude and demeanor was hateful he had my son crying. If you have adventurous kids that love trying new foods this place is not for them if they don't lick the plate clean.
