I am not one to usually comment but my experience was so horrible I felt I need to share. I have stayed at several Holiday Inn Express's but the one in Norfolk is the worst. I have stayed there multiple times and had similar experiences but this time I have decided not to stay there again.
The first part was my mistake as I booked online and when I did it priced it higher than what the agreed price I has was. I called the hotel and confirmed they would change it to a specific amount. I thanked them and waited to do my stay.
When I checked in I seen that they changed the rate but not to what we agreed on. It was still $20.00 higher than agreed amount. I explained and the clerk shared with me he would leave a message with Mary(I think) the manager to correct before I checked out. Since it was night it was too late to go somewhere else so I checked in.
The next morning when I checked out the lady that was at the desk was so rude and interrogated me like a criminal/liar when I explained to her the situation. Nothing had changed and when I explained what I had agreed upon she just started asking me demeaning questions like it wasn't true and because what was on the computer was what I said I agreed to. I explained multiple times that I understood what she was reading but it was incorrect. I shared my frustration and advised her that I didn't appreciate how she was talking to me. She left it with that she would have the manager call me. To date I have never heard back from anyone. I have had similar experience over the last year with this same location and mischarging me. This is an easy fix as I will just not choose to stay there again and will share this with my coworkers and friends . Very unfortunate because I do like staying at Holiday Inns, LOL just...
Read moreAnother business trip, another Inns. Let's start with breakfast. This facility offers complimentary breakfast which is combination some hot meals like scrambled egg or omelets. Of course you will find diary products as well. In comparison to other Inns I found less variety of food. Also unlike other Inns kitchen staff does not try to make verbal communications with guests. In other places, staff greets the guests and asks them about quality of breakfast. I do not supposed hot meals are freshly baked Check in: like other places is very basic, plain and quick. Make sure you have your reservation number and loyalty account and ID and credit card handy. Speaking of loyalty, I believe it has change everything meani g no loyalty program, no value to the business. Also these days we cannot say friendly staff because they offer you complimentary water bottle if you are at certain level of loyalty which is not staff fault. My room was in second floor. Clean and renovated in recent years. Wash room and shower are clean with proper lighting. Fridge did not have the temperature adjustment know so my beloved vegetables got frozen in there. Rooms comes with wall installed lcd TV and standard TV programs. Some HBOs are included. They have added a new program which if you skip daily room cleaning and service, the give some not too much attractive points. This means more saving for the hotel and probably being more conservative towards using water etc. Still you can opt in and ask for towel etc from front desk. Read moreThe beds were comfortable but the sound proofing is awful. Someone above us like playing in the rolling office chair and it was very loud. Housekeeping really didn't spend much time in our room and didn't shut the door all the day so our room was left unlocked all day. When contacting the front desk the response was "Well the hotel has been empty all day" That's not the point, our belongings were left exposed to anyone who wanted to enter the room. Not all of the outlets in the room worked, including the outlet on the lamp?? There was a slight issue checking in, the front desk clerk was pretty much ready so tell me sorry you don't have a room but I mentioned that I had called prior and spoke to the woman next to him to discuss the issues. I was told that it wouldn't be an issue therefore they had to figure it out on their end to make it work....all the while the gentleman is telling me how I need to make my bank change their policies.
