So it’s been about 2 months now and my problem hasn’t been resolved, nor has a manager gotten ahold of me after multiple attempts to get ahold of them.
Spencer and I decided to open another credit line and finance a new bed at #mattressfirm (in Robinson, next to bed bath and beyond)
Delivery day came and the guys who were suppose to deliver our mattress refused to deliver on our street because of a “low hanging electric wire”. They faced timed their boss the wire and and their boss decided to call me.
His facetime opinion was irrelevant to me. Multiple construction vehicles, UPS trucks, big trailers hitched on to trucks that live in my area all had 0 problem driving up the hill to our house, and their box truck wasn’t bigger then any of those.
When approached by their boss with the problem, I asked what they were going to do about it, and his rude response was “we aren’t going to do anything about it, you’re not getting your mattress delivered, and my guys aren’t walking it to you.” (It might have been a half a football field walking distance) I replied with ok, because I didn’t expect a hand out from this guy, I just wanted to know what the solution would be, and I asked again how I was going to get my mattress, and he insisted that if I didn’t have a pick up truck to get it from the store, I needed to find one or rent one because it wasn’t their problem. I hung up on him. Spencer walked down to the guys in hopes they could all walk it up to the house, but no, instead he got a whole load of attitude and they ended up leaving our mattress and box spring on the side of the road!!!!
Spencer and I walked it up to the house which really wasn’t a challenge at all, but #mattressfirm has with out a doubt the worst delivery contract with whatever company they use, and their customer service is equally as disappointing.
Since they won’t contact me, hopefully this post can show how awful they are and maybe it will get around to someone that will finally...
Read moreWe stopped in to Mattress Firm, on our way back to another mattress retailer, just to see if perhaps they had the same bed that we were set on, and to get a second price quote. Let me just say that we are SO glad that we did. Not only did Mattress Firm have the same mattress (and other elevated models to test out/different firmness levels), but the store manager Gerald (Gerry), was absolutely outstanding. He is extremely knowledgeable on all mattress brands and was able to assist us to not only get the same bed that we were set on, but to also get a better adjustable base (their top of the line base) for the same price as the base we were previously set on. He got us a better price on the mattress, a better price on pillows, and threw in additional bells and whistles while still coming in nearly $1,000 less than the prior quote we got from another retailer. The company offers an extremely competitive return/exchange program that gave us a ton of peace of mind with such a large investment. And it was a slam dunk to order a bed on a Saturday that is to be delivered/assembled on Monday (and free of charge!)
If you’re in the market for a new bed, shop around. But don’t sleep on Mattress Firm (pun intended!) They can absolutely get you the right price and the best customer service out there. We are thrilled that we decided to stop in. And the 0% financing that they offer also awards customers with 3% cash back. So it will be a nice bonus to get a $200 gift card, just for buying the bed we already planned to purchase.

Read moreI had written a review based on our first experience with the sales manager, Jerry. Since then, the review has drastically changed. I am still giving two stars because of our first experience but if it wasn't for that, they would get 1 star. The communication is very poor and once they sell you a mattress, they do not see you as a "customer" anymore. In fact, I was even told they would have to call me back because they had customers in the store. That statement happened a few times. Also, I never get a call back. I have had to chase down the same manager to just get this horrible mattress experience dealt with because apparently he is the only one allowed to do the return or exchange process. It has been beyond frustrating. We needed to change our mattress because it was for sure defective. Eventually that happened and the customer service improved slightly. Now we are trying to return the SAME MATTRESS type that was replaced for us the second time at the insistence of the sales manager. Well, this second one is defective too. Though, now I think it is just how they are made. It sinks down and doesn't come back up to formation. It feels like we are sleeping on an old worn out mattress sinking into a hole. This time it's a return because we are not going to keep going back and forth with the lack of communication and lack of customer service. I'm glad they are not dealing with my husband at this point who is furious. I'm trying to work through this process with as much grace as I can. I used to work in sales and it is not easy. We will be weary using Mattress Firm ever again unless the customer service improves from sale to final 120 trial...
