The Yard An American Gastropub located at 670 Chauvet Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15275: On September 18, 2024, I attended the Robert Morris University MBA Social titled MBA Social Art and Entrepreneurship held at The Yard An American Gastropub. The event, which took place in one of The Yard’s private rooms, was a great kick-off for Fall 2024, bringing together graduates from RMU’s Rockwell School of Business to connect, share ideas, and build relationships. Atmosphere: The private room provided a cozy and welcoming environment for networking, with ample space for mingling and casual conversation. The room had a rustic, industrial-chic vibe, featuring exposed brick walls, wooden tables, and modern lighting, which added to the laid-back ambiance. There was a good energy throughout the event, and the venue had a unique and inviting feel. Food and Drinks: The Yard served a delicious spread of food and drinks. The buffet included a variety of items from salad to appetizers, and everything was well-presented. The quality of the food was great, and it complemented the lively atmosphere of the social. Drink specials, including $3 drafts, were a nice touch and added to the overall value. Service: The staff was attentive and ensured the event ran smoothly. Food and drinks were replenished promptly, and they did a good job of keeping the area tidy throughout the evening. The service was consistent and friendly. Overall Experience: The Yard provided an excellent setting for the MBA social, with a good balance of food, drinks, and space to foster connections. The venue’s warm atmosphere and attentive staff contributed to the overall success of the event. I would recommend The Yard for similar gatherings or social events. The only area for improvement would be offering a wider variety of food options for larger groups.

2019 - First time - 3 stars. Ordered the Philly cheese steak grilled cheese and the truffle flatbread. Both were very good. The tomato soup was very good. What was not any good were any of the potato items we tried both the home fries and the chips. Both were over cooked - no they were burnt. We asked for new chips and got another bowl of burnt chips. So 0 stars for the chips, home fries and fries. Nothing was actually hot. 2022 - Second time - 5 stars. Ordered the fried pierogi appetizers, always sunny in philly grilled cheese with waffle fries and caprese grilled cheese with tots. The fried pierogi were excellent the included sour cream dip not so much. I asked our server Charlie if we could try the beer cheese instead. Beer cheese is the perfect complement to salty, potato, crispy texture of the fried perogies. Skip the sour cream. I love restaurants that allow to change the menu. Both grilled cheese were excellent. Plus both tots and waffle fries were excellent. All our food was served hot. I'm so glad they have worked out all their original issues we will be back. 2024 - Third time - 5 stars. We started with a Sangria and a Tito's mule, both were very good. Then we had a smash burger and the mother of dragons. Both were excellent. The sides of waffle fries and tots were excellent. The only let down was the coleslaw - too much raw mayo flavor. However another excellent meal. Service was good. Prices were good.

My friends and I got together for brunch today and we decided on this place. They had bottomless (limit 15) mimosas and a Bloody Mary bar, which was super cool. I don’t drink so yea. My friend said the drinks were good. I ordered the chicken & waffles with homefries on the side. It came with a bacon syrup & chicken gravy. I asked for it on the side because I just came image them mixed. Eww no. I also got some French fries too and they were BOMB!!! Loved the seasoning and rosemary they put on them. So, about my chicken and waffles. It wasn’t good. Presentation A+... you get 2 large chicken breasts. The chicken looked like a giant Gordon’s fish fillet. I was expecting a nice crispy chicken breast, nicely seasoned with spices not a corn dog but with chicken. The pancake batter was so darn thick on the chicken I was afraid the chicken wouldn’t be done inside. I cut into it and the batter literally came off the chicken. I wouldn’t recommend it unless they change the pancake encrusted chicken. Anyway, Out waitress, Alexis or Alexa was super dope and met all of our needs! Thanks girl, you the best!! This pics below is showing how the outside was so thick the chicken slid right out..

Five stars across the board! My significant other and I were looking in the area for a new restaurant and found one. Parking was easy, entering the building there were signs posted everywhere about dealing with the pandemic and the host greeted us right away. We were seated in a corner booth (which is my favorite place to sit) and handed menus. Didn't have a long wait as our waitress, Casey, came over, welcomed me (he went outside to get his readers) and informed me of the rules of ordering alcohol before food (due to pandemic). She was extremely friendly and you could tell she was smiling behind the mask. :) Ordered the Southern Tier Nitro Hot Cocoa for the man and a glass of wine for myself. Who has years of experience in the industry and walks into a gastropub to order wine?? This guy (pointing at myself). I barely drank my wine as his beer was SO fantastic! He had to order another one. I ordered the Lafferty, Daniel (which is basically a Chicken Parmesan grilled cheese sandwich). It was pretty tasty, but the basil that I got with each bite was the seller for me. He ordered the Smack Yo Mama and his face lit up! Pulled pork was perfectly seasoned nicely and topped with barbque sauce, crispy onion straws and a "just enough" amount of perfectly melted cheese. The tomato soup should be renamed bisque because it was a rich and creamy as one. If this was a mistake, it was a good one. So yummy! Casey checked in on us and we were very happy with our meals. When we got our check I was surprised to see HH pricing!

To the kitchen: Thanks for making our meals so enjoyable and great enough to review! You guys rock!! To Casey: Thanks for making the experience a good one enough for us to come back and sit with you in your section. If you're busy, we'll wait. :) And I loved your mask! Forgot to tell you that. lol To the establishment: Great job with this place!

We'll definitely be back! Thanks again...
