The location of the hotel is great. I'd suggest a river view if you can. Walking distance to trolly stops and many restaurants in North Little Rock. It can be a lot of walking. Check in process for me and my 5 coworkers took between 20-25 minutes on a Sunday and Monday afternoon. They were not busy. Little to no eye contact and no one seemed to be cheerful to greet/help their guests other than Brandon. My room had standing water in the shower. I was about ankle deep. Once the water drained, there was a residue left behind in the tub which made it slippery. There was a stain on the couch that looked, well, you can see the attached picture and make your own conclusions. By day two, my key didn't work and I had to go down to the desk and wait about 10 minutes for help. Rooms are dated with paper thin walls and not level. The room I was in on the second floor had a desk and the chair was right in front of it. As soon as the chair moved, the middle drawer opened. The furniture is awfully bulky and unattractive, in my opinion. There's contradictory information about having your room serviced. On the mirror it says every 3 days for linen, on the back of the map it says only at your request. I was there for 5 nights and got no service. Now, could I have asked, yes, but I was okay. The shuttle was great and has a 2 mile radius, but they will pick you up at the airport. If you are coming in or leaving super early, as in 4am to go to the airport, don't count on the shuttle. It doesn't run that early. I wasn't impressed with their suggestion of alternative transportation, ZTrips, as no one answered at the number they gave me. It went to a voicemail that wasn't set up. Go with Drive Wright Elite Transport. Now, there was confusion on the shuttle service during "normal" hours. When calling a couple of weeks in advance, one desk representative stated I could call a couple of days ahead to let them know when the flight was coming in. Great! Well, a couple weeks later I called in advance, like I was informed, and there was hesitancy in the desk representative's voice. She said I could call once I got my baggage or call while decending. Certain the airline wouldn't be happy that I'm making phone calls while landing, I called the hotel on the way to baggage. They were pretty quick to come get me and a coworker but took over 30 minutes for other coworkers coming in the following day. Breakfast was good each morning, but didn't really change in selection day-to-day. My coworker forgot her tumbler in a conference room Wednesday evening, she never got it returned despite her checking on it frequently that evening and several times the following day. Overall, I would not use this hotel again for any purpose. I left unimpressed and underwhelmed. There are several areas that could use improvement, starting with the friendliness behind the front desk. Take my words/pictures as you will. It served its purpose for a conference and a place to...
Read moreI stayed here for three nights recently for a conference. The good: Housekeeping was very good. My room was perfectly clean. The conference facilities were good, although the chairs in the conference rooms could have been more comfortable. The included breakfast buffet was good, although I have seen a better variety of items at some other hotels. Still, there was both a hot bar and a cold bar, and I didn't leave hungry any of the three mornings I ate there. The omelet station was very good, and the service was fantastic. The riverfront location is nice, although the main commercial district of North Little Rock is about a 10 minute drive away. If you're a baseball fan, you can walk across the street to Dickey-Stephens Park where the AA Arkansas Travelers play. If you're here on the right night, you could get a free fireworks show as I did. The layout of the hotel is really convenient with two large floors of 100+ rooms. This makes it easy for conference attendees to go to their rooms for breaks, etc. and minimizes trips up and down elevators or stairs.
The so-so: The rooms and amenities are pretty basic. I would have been disappointed if I had paid the usual non-conference weekend rate for the room.
The bad: Maintenance was an absolute disaster. I noticed there was a leak under the bathroom sink whenever I used it. Soon thereafter, the cold water supply line to the sink became detached from the faucet and flooded the floor of the bathroom before I could close the shutoff valve. To the hotel's credit, their engineering staff fixed the problem within about 30 minutes. Later in the weekend, I noticed some areas of the popcorn ceiling bulging slightly. Saturday afternoon, as I took a break from the conference, I noticed some white powder on the floor and determined it was coming from the ceiling. Upon my return at the end of the day on Saturday, about a square foot of the ceiling had collapsed, making a big mess on the floor between the beds. Finally, the shower handle was loose and felt as if it would stop working leaving the water either stuck on or off, but it worked long enough to get me through my stay. Front desk staff was apologetic, but I was quite disappointed that I had to deal with these issues at a purported 3-star hotel. The included free wi-fi is unsecured. Fortunately, I didn't need to use it, because this is unacceptable in 2023.
I deducted two stars for the maintenance issues. I believe this was an exceptional case as I did not hear complaints of similar issues among any of my fellow attendees. However, I would choose another hotel unless I was possibly attending...
Read moreWould I stay here again no, let me explain why...we was in town for a event & this is the hotel picked by the hosts (event wasn't at the hotel) a lot of the guest that checked in that day was there for the event. We had a late check in even though I did not interact with the front desk staff it appears check in went good, I also did not get out to go inside to the lobby nor did I personally go to the lobby at all on the stay.We drove around to the entrance where our rooms was upon entering I could tell by the decor this hotel is old & or need a complete renovation & remodel & upon entering our room I thought the exact same thing this hotel is very outdated. However the room & bathroom was clean, fully stocked with plenty of towels. Our room was a double bed, please note double beds are not queen their full size beds a little small but doable. The bathroom is small like tight small, even though the bathroom was clean the toilet seat was not attached with the 2 screws but only 1 which made the seat move, the sink faucet the hot water knob had to turn completely to the mirror to turn off (passed the point of turning off in a normal position), the shower: when showering the water drains so slowly that it causes standing water in the tub which causes residue in the tub once fully drained (rinsing the tub out after each use helps with the residue). We did breakfast once & it was a typical breakfast food was fine, service was good 1 waiter & 1 cook (short staffed that day) so it was a little slow going however the waiter was extremely nice & very aware of each table. We was only there 2 nights so we didn't get our room cleaned by housekeeping for our stay but I did talk to housekeeping while passing them in the halls & they were nice & seemed to really clean the room she was in at the time. If it wasn't for the the breakfast staff & housekeeping I would've given the hotel a 1. For this hotel to be downtown & at the river I would have expected a more up-to-date hotel. I did not take pics because the pics posted on other reviews...
