Wet Whistle Pool Bar — Restaurant in South Carolina

Update: I had originally made a one star review due to the reasons in the section below. However We decided to give this bar another try and THANKFULLY was served by the most amazing bartender RUSS!! He was very tentative, personable, and was able to keep a smile on his face and on the face on the customers. Only because of him am I changing my review to five stars!!! Thank you Russ you were amazing!

Some of the worst bartenders.... they all just stand around looking clueless. One guy kept finding things to do to keep him out of making drinks even though there are people waiting (he was also rude). During shift change one girl took about 15 minutes to clear out the tip jars and change till. Kept stopping to talk to people who already had drinks.. put some pep in your step, change your till, and start helping people waiting. THE ONLY SAVING...

Good drinks, over-priced food. My partner and I ordered the chicken sandwich, caesar salad, wings and 2 menu cocktails. The food was served on paper trays and is lacking. The chicken sandwich was clearly pre-frozen and served on a bun with pickles and terrible fries - not hot or salted. The salad was ok but comes out with a packet of dressing. The wings and drinks were the best part. Their buffalo sauce is amazing but was served with packaged ranch. With 20% gratuity we paid just over $100 - just felt for the cost, they could offer more quality menu items and presentation. Would return for just drinks since it’s a nice walk down the beach...

Section of the menu under 'Frozen Drinks' listed a margarita as a frozen drink. A FROZEN DRINK is served with ground ice not ice chips like a soda. The margarita was $12, served over ice chips like I was in a watering hole instead of an expensive $300+ a night hotel like the one the Wet Whistle is in. For 12 dollars, I could have gone to a better part of town & had a larger drink that was actually served with ground ice instead of ice chips. For the price it was very underwhelming. Woman bartender only takes to men who tip maybe that's why my boyfriend received his frozen drink with ground ice FROM THE MACHINE while I received a scoop...
