I will work my way up describing what I saw. Even though it is obvious that the parking lot adjacent to the entrance is available for the customers. Maybe there was a sign to indicate other available parking areas, but I didn't see it. I asked the front desk person where else can I park and she said between the buildings (pointing to the east) and to the lot across the street. The hotel had a clean and spacious Lobby, with beautiful decorations. The check in process was simple. I loved how fast and easy it was to check in. There were plenty elevators to choose from. They had a good speed too. The elevators even have security cameras, as well as the hallways, common areas, around the building and the parking lots. The room was nice and clean with no bad smell to complain about. However, it appears that the cleaning team rushed through certain areas including the bathroom. This could be improved. I love that they had all of the following: A corner with a coffee maker, beside a stainless steel sink, a sandwich toaster (stored in the top cabinet), a spacious open closet, a microwave, a good size refrigerator, a TV with a handy rotating/sliding base that allows you to pull it out for better orientation. There were plenty chairs with a small (but sufficient) size table, a safe that I didn't check to see if it was available at no additional cost. The room had a good size balcony with direct view to the Atlantic Ocean. The area in between the building and the ocean was clean, it had beautiful sea grass and I like that there was no visible man made structure in that view other than the fence, some small signs and several trash cans that all blended nicely. My biggest dislike were the pillows. They were too bulky & uncomfortable. There should be a set of at least two or three different thickness to choose from; instead, all six pillows were bulky. Finally, I loved the fact that there where three (3) sinks strategically located. One in the bathroom, one next to the bed and the one by the refrigerator and closet. That was a good surprise. I wish other hotels imitate it. Overall, it is definitely a place to return. Please keep in mind that English is my second language and this review may not be grammatically perfect, but it was done from the bottom of my heart to help people like you; to have an informed decision when visiting this place. Two last things, don't let the name of the Spanish Galleon fool you to believe that you will dance to the rhythm of Latin music and beware of the sharks in the beach. Can you spot one in my picture?

We stayed Thursday May 17th to Monday the 21st. It was myself and my two friends. We came for a friend vacation. We are the non-typical Myrtle Beach college students, as we were not there to party and it was quite obvious we didn't look like everyone else. Staff: The staff were amazing. Friendly, quarky and nice. I think the maid ate two of my cookies from a box of cookies I brought, but I'm honestly not worried about it. Cleanliness: The hotel part was clean, but the insides pools looked like they haven't been cleaned frequently, as to get into the inside pool you have to go through doors and hallways, yet they had bugs in them and lots of sand. The outside pools seemed fine. The outside hot tub had massive amounts of sand, but that's to be expected. Loudness: Saturday night and ALL Sunday was extreamly noisy. There were often people shouting in the halls, but they didn't do it long enough to make a noise complaint, just enough to wake me up. Family friendliness: from 3pm-when we fell asleep there were always open alcoholic beverages. And then mass amounts of college students were quite rude and disgusting. Guests: There were massive numbers of a certain type of college student (snarky, rude, beg for money from strangers, drunk, loud, think they are better than anyone else who doesn't look like every other person at Myrtle Beach). We were afraid of leaving our room after 6pm because of how rude the college students were. Also because they were asking for money the first night, that they may try to mug or steal from us. Beach: The beach was only ever highly populated durring Sunday. There was two spots to rinse off inside the gate of the hotel. Location: There were some beach shops within walking distance, but if you are looking for something specific like spaghetti, cake or a general store, you will have to drive to get there. There is a Walmart within just a few miles. There are MANY waffle houses and putput golf courses in the area. If you are a non-typical Myrtle Beach vacationer, I suggest skipping out on "Broadway on the Beach" and go to "Barefoot Landing" instead, as there are many less people, free parking and the shops are so much better. If you like nature, gardens and sculptures I also suggest taking and hour drive to "Brooke Green Gardens." Arcade: one of the claw machine says it only cost 50cents, but it actually takes up to $1 to work. The toy we got from that same vending machine had random hair on it (like cat hair), and seemed used before.

Our first time at this resort: check in was a breeze. Staff was very courteous and answered all of our questions in a flash. Even gave us some tips on some places to eat. Very nice. Our room was a double "Full" size. I thought they were queen size. But, that was my fault...I read it wrong. Be sure and read everything very carefully, like the "resort fee" it is like $10 per person, separate from the room cost. You pay that when you arrive. But, the room was so nice and CLEAN. The kitchenette had a sink, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, mini fridge ( a nice one), full set of dishes with silverware and a pitcher. And, there was an iron with full size ironing board. Beds were comfortable with lots of pillow. And, I totally enjoyed the complimentary coffee every morning on the balcony. This was a very pleasant experience and we will definitely return. My 11 yr old was so sad to leave. Best Mother's Day weekend.

I would not go back here. This was our first time staying here and our last. We booked Ocean Front room with king bed. The service was the worst I have ever experienced. Not sure if they need more employees or what. When we first arrived it was prior to check in time. The older woman at the desk was not rude, but not friendly either. Our rooms was not ready and she told us to come back later - which was fine, she told us nothing of the services or amenities. We came back later in the day and we had a much younger guy. He checked us in and gave us the pool bracelets & parking pass and wifi password. That basically was all the was said. The room was ocean front & it did have beautiful view. Bathroom was extremely small. Shower - I am 5'3 1/2" and had to duck down to take a shower. Room looked fairly clean. No extras - no extra pillows, no blanket - no luggage rack for suitcase. 4 coat hangers, and safe that looked like it was glued in cabinet. 1 bag of coffee. The sliding glass door for balcony didn't even have a lock to lock. I looked and though it might be stuck due to salt air - but there was not a mechanism in it. Looked like someone took it out. That was the best the room was. The next day I asked if they had housekeeping, as I am the type of person who likes my bed made everyday and room cleaned. I have stayed in placed that told us no housekeeping, just fresh towels daily - and that was fine - I would make bed myself and clean up, such as sweep myself. I was told that they did have daily housekeeping, but it was usually early afternoon. I said that you, and moved on. Well in the 5 nights that we were there, our bed was made once. Floor never swept, to the point sand was in the bed, as the sand from the floor. We received fresh towels once. One time they took dirty towels and didn't give clean ones back. More coffee twice. Trash was random, some cans were empty and some were not. I actually saw the housekeeper in the hall one day and she asked if I wanted services/towels. I said yes, and the room cleaned and bed made - She told me point blank - she doesn't make the bed. Still trying to figure out what she did do. That day we received the fresh towels - that was it. I usually leave $5 a day for tip as I usually pretty much clean up after myself & husband anyway - I was like you don't make bed, I don't leave tip. This was the first time in my life that I did not leave tip for housekeeping.

The restaurant. The food was good - Drinks were not. I order vodka & soda with lime. It was the weakest drink I have every had in my life. Tasted like flat soda water.

I have stayed at condos and other resorts & pools are always cleaned daily. I did not see the pool cleaned once the entire time. The dirt (sand pile) at the bottom of the pool just kept growing. There was storm one night and tree branches & a bunch of leaves were in the lazy river and no one ever...
