Been there twice. 4/10 experience. We hadn't even walked up to the counter because people were there and they wanted to know our order and when I told them I need a minute they said "the flavors are on the board there is nothing to see up here what do you want". Like what? Lol I'm also trying to see how much stuff is, can I have 10 seconds to look? First time being there we had questions and the staff seemed super annoyed by it. I get you're busy, I actually work at a icecream shop in my home town, but I would never rush someone or act like they do towards customers. The flavors decent and there are a lot of them. I do wish they had a kid scoop price for my kids because they don't eat $4 worth of icecream a piece. so they are a little pricey if you have a bigger family, but the rushing you thru the line to get to the next person is annoying. I assume they are trying to be quick but I'd rather wait a little longer and have a more pleasant experience especially when having to order for a big group.Whits custard right down the road won people's choice of icecream and they are top notch when it comes to customer service. We will be taking our family of 11 there instead! Definitely recommend you try...
Read moreWhile on vacation here in Myrtle Beach, our little group decided on a nice ice cream treat. There are plenty within walking distance of our hotel (the Wyndham Ocean Boulevard) and all within eyesight of each other. My husband found a review from Food and Wine that claimed Melt was "The best ice cream in SC". That's a pretty bold claim, so we decided to give it whirl. It did not disappoint. Not every flavor is made in house, but they take the effort to mark which ones are. We loved this place so much and wanted to try more flavors so we ended up coming back a second time. This place could easily charge twice the price for their offerings, but a double scoop (the small) was $3.50. On a recent trip to San Diego, my husband and I had hard pack ice cream and paid about $4.50 for a single scoop. Melt is definitely fantastic, hard pack, ice cream. The staff knew what was in each tasty flavor. I'd highly recommend checking them out. The Goat was a personal favorite, along with Blackberry Chip, the Grasshopper, and Peach! Since we didn't have time to try every ice cream place in SC, I think Melt can definitely...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I were looking for an ice cream place. We walked by several, but we ended up choosing melt, and I’m glad we did. I’m vegan so I only ever eat ice cream if I buy it from the store, I never expected to be able to eat DELICIOUS vegan ice cream from an actual shop on the beach. I was so surprised when I walked up to the chalk board outside with all the flavors and down at the bottom said “VEGAN chocolate” This alone is great, but the workers are great too. This place is friendly in general but very vegan friendly. I then asked for a cone instead of a cup and she knew the ingredients for the cones and informed me that there was a little dairy in them, so if I’m fully vegan I could just get a cup instead. This may sound simple but it’s really hard eating out when your vegan, and a lot of people just wouldn’t care if it has a little dairy in it and not even think about telling me.
Delicious flavors, great service, amazing...
