I want to begin with the positives: many of the people that work here are pleasant. It's a great location. It has desirable amenities. HThe parking is not difficult. Unfortunately, there are also some cons. Our room was a little rundown, not horribly so, but considering the price, I did not expect that. I chalked that up to the fact that there are so many amenities and the beach nearby and the tv does not require a technology degree.
The biggest issue with the suite is that I heard the water from toilets going through the pipes in my bedroom wall every few minutes. I tried to pretend it was something else - like a waterfall or fountain- but I just could not get around it. I could also hear the people upstairs moving around.
Another issue, which I don't think you can do much about, is the stress that goes along with going to the pool and the beach. There is a mad dash to the pool every day - this is not an exaggeration- to get lounge chairs. I did not do that. I just stood on my balcony and watched everybody else do it. What can you do? It would be nice if other chairs could be used - ones that belong to guests - but that's not allowed. I'm sure it's a safety issue that cannot be amended. In addition, the beach is also packed and stressful as folks vie for the prime spots.
All of this leads me to this: If you plan on staying at this resort without leaving the premises, therefore, being able to guard your territory, this place is for you. Also, if you can overlook, or not be bothered by, the constant sound of toilet water going through the pipes, this place is for you.
It just is not for me. This is the second time I've been here - I do not plan the vacations. Last year seemed to be less stressful. We definitely had a better view then. Anyway, it's...
Read moreOk first to the room/condo we had: sufficient space, nice kitchen and bed. the pullout couch as well as the rest of the furniture dated. Found a rubberband on the couch mattress when we opened it up but covered it with 2 bedsheets to at least it felt like it was clean. There was only one window in the bedroom and no balcony, very limited natural light with zero view of an exterior wall and it overall had a musty smell which made me buy some airwick candles to cover it. I usually only write reviews if service/accommodations were either super good or absolutely terrible. this was an average MB experience although the grounds/pool and beach of this resort are the nicest to me. Pools were very crowded in the peak hours, no social distancing possible and hotel had to be booked at FULL capacity. What really ticked me off was that my son left his air pods in our room and service personal denied having found them. We were able to track them with the air pod app and they were 100% taken! I called several times and was promised to get a call back from the supervisor of the cleaning crew, which never happened. I would like to believe that a matter like this (at a resort of this caliber) should have been handled more professional and with more care. Make sure you double check you packed everything before you check out or your stuff will be gone! Needless to say, this was our LAST stay at Plantation at North MB based on...
Read moreWe have stayed here several times. Always rented a house when we went and they were always clean and tidy with updated furniture and décor. This resort has a great location, across the street there is a huge shopping area with plenty of great restaurants and shops to choose from. You're also not far from another large shopping mall area and downtown Myrtle Beach with all of those games and bars. The beach is very nice and so are the pools and hot tubs. We never had any problems with any of the services offered at this resort. If you don't have a pool, you can call the concierge and they will send a golf cart to come pick you up and take you to the pools/beach area which is really nice, the only downside is something you might be waiting and decide to walk.
One time we were a part of a wedding also. The venue was very nice and the space was perfect for a medium sized wedding. The restaurant on the resort also has amazing steaks.
I have nothing bad to say about this place whatsoever. The only thing I would look at is the time of year you go. We typically go in the beginning of Fall or end of Summer. One time the swim up bar was closed for the season which was a bummer since it's the only way to easily get drinks and food by the water.
I would recommend anybody to stay here if you are looking to vacation in the...
