A mixed bag. On the one hand, our server was excellent, fast and very engaged and a straight up pleasure to deal with. The food was yummy, burgers tasted very fresh (the pick your own version notably better than the 'all the way' chili/slaw/onions style, which lacked flavor imo). Onion rings were great, but the fries def had that 'from the freezer' aftertaste; something I suspect comes from cost cutting, which is evident in the fact they only take cash. (I don't recall it being explicitly stated anywhere. Could be wrong!)
The employees at the front seemed insanely annoyed that we didn't realize it was cash only, but even worse, could barley muster up a full sentence to say as such. I get; sometimes customers are annoying, but like, it's also 2018 and the norm is to have a way to pay aside from cash, not the opposite. It just could have been handled in a better fashion imo. (I help customers everyday and know how to put on a face, even if I'm slightly annoyed with a question I get asked daily, so this isn't like some hard to do thing.)
At any rate, the food was served quickly and efficiently and was pretty tasty and prices fair. Just make sure you know the ropes before you get to the front, cause some of the employees will be so disappointed to see that you don't.
EDIT
to address the response from the social media manager team below this post: the awkward and off-putting nature of the employee's in your establishment was done at a point where standing around and waiting for a manager would have only served to make our experience worse. We also aren't 'those people' who see it fit to make a stink about something in public, and we had plans to attend to after eating on top of it all. I didn't 'feel' they were rude; they WERE rude, period. However, not all of your employees there are like this; to reiterate our server was wonderful. She didn't do anything crazy either, just prompt and kind and willing to make suggestions. Also: she spoke in a matter that was easy to understand, hear and was direct about it. (The exact opposite of the other staff involved in this particular incident.)
I could understand the defensive response if not for the fact that this review was a solid 3 stars and highlighted both the good and bad of our experience AND was more than a sentence long. It's a shame such a detailed rundown is met with more pushback instead of seeing a pattern amongst other customers who...
Read moreI came here on September 23rd , the day before my birthday. I've seen several YouTube videos on Myrtle Beach talking about how good the burgers are here. I also do YouTube videos and will be posting one of my own. I have to say these are some really good burgers and the onion rings were on point too. My waitress was very nice and came by several times to check on me and I really appreciate that. She came by to refill my Sweet Tea several times.
I got a cheeseburger with extra bacon , mayo , lettuce , and relish. The relish really set it off and I like how the bacon is rounded so it covers the entire burger. The onion rings were cooked perfectly and were tasty. My total for my lunch was $14.48 with tax , what a deal. In Las Vegas where I live it would have been $25 for a quality burger combo with drink. If I lived in Myrtle Beach I would definitely come here often and try other items on the menu. The table next to me had Chicken Wings and they looked really good.
The decor of the place is so cool. It has a back porch you can dine at and picnic tables down below beside the pond. The outside looks like an old wooden home with a big front porch. They also have a big cooler I guess they use for the summer time when people are waiting outside to get a table when it's busy and I bet during the summer months this place is packed ! It was more than half full when I went and it's the end of September , low season. I will definitely come back when I get...
Read moreHORRIBLE EXPERIENCE... we were NATIVE AMERICAN Party of 4, I would say we got racially profiled as soon as we walked up The hosted carried us inside, we walked past atleast 10 open tables & was carried outside. It's like she had to unlock the door & propped it open to let us in the outside section. Mind you, NOBODY was out there, EVERYONE was inside. And it was all picnic tables. I asked the lady was there not any tables inside we could sit at. She said yes, would you like to sit inside. First off, WHY would you take US "BROWN SKIN" people outside, but everyone that came in the door was sat INSIDE (white folk of course) I finally asked the waitress, cause my Family was bothered and UPSET that we were treated less than everyone else that came their the door. The waitress tried to explain that they alternate outside, if that's the case why was the door closed off and NOBODY that came in was taken outside. We watched 5 white families come in after us and NOONE was taken outside. My kids are still Upset that we were treated like we were beneath everyone else who was lighter than us. Then the waitress went and whispered to the others what I said about how we were treated, then they started looking and making faces. I was so uncomfortable & scared to eat that out food would be tampered with for voicing my concern. Please can we all just be...
