Windy Hill Dunes by Elliott Beach Rentals — Hotel in North Myrtle Beach

This was our first staying here. We were in RM 1302, condo was a good size for 7, seemed to be newly remodeled and very clean. We loved the fact that there was a storage closet right outside the room to store our chairs and umbrellas. Beds were ok, one of the full sized beds in the double bedroom could definitely be replaced. The box spring makes a horrible noise when you sit on the bed or roll over. We rented through Condo World and they could do a better job with their instructions upon arrival. The parking garage is located across the street, we were unaware there was a loading and unloading zone at ground level of the building so we parked in parking garage and unloaded from there. It was a lot of back and forth, up and down on the parking garage elevator, crossing into the building and getting up to our floor. The pool and lazy river were nice, the kids enjoyed it. But thought it was strange we had to get a paper wrist band every day to go to the pool and to even pass through to the beach. This process could use some upgrading. No one wanted to keep a wrist band on all week and between the water and wear and tear it was impossible. The parking garage is tight and my car was hit during our stay. It’s especially hard to navigate with vehicles coming in and out. While there are signs posted that it’s a smoke free property, it wasn’t the case. Most nights we were unable to sit and enjoy the balcony due to the smell marijuana coming from those next to us. It was mentioned to staff but nothing was done. Our beach cart was also stolen from right outside our door the 2nd day we were there as we were gathering our things to head to the beach. Unfortunately they only have cameras in the elevators and parking deck. We spoke to staff who were very rude about it and acted as if we were accusing them. We called Condo World and were given the number to the HOA because 2 rooms around us had ring cameras but no one bothered to return our call. As far as the beach it was nice, with a lifeguard stand right in front of the condo. The shower area is a little small and at times would get pretty crowded. The location is great. We stayed in unit #1602. The unit itself was awesome... Huge, spacious layout. Everyone had plenty of space. The bedrooms and bathrooms were large and clean nice furnishings. The kitchen was large and well equipped with updated appliances (even a wine cooler!) and every kind of kitchen tool and utensil you could think of for cooking, baking, grilling. Our unit was ready hours before scheduled check in and we were able to get settled before the rush. There are unloading zones and 3 elevators so coming and going from the rooms wasn’t a hassle. There is a parking garage across the street with an enclosed over-the-street bridge, which was very convenient. The lazy river, pool, and baby pool are a little small, but we liked that they were partially shaded. With all ages in our group, it was nice to be able to stay together even if some of us wanted to be in the sun and the kids could get some shade. Our unit was well decorated, very clean, and comfortable. The only reason I give 4 and not 5 star review is the living room furniture was pretty and clean, but aging. A few tables wobbled, and ottoman was collapsing on one side, the couches were beginning to creak and wiggle a little, and we worried (we had 8 kids in our group) that something may reach its breaking point soon. DO NOT STAY HERE. I don’t even know where to begin, so I’ll just list pros/cons. & let me also say, my family & I have been coming to Myrtle beach for years. We’ve stayed in many condos & this one has to be the worst! We only booked it because our usual one was not available this year.

CONS: -rooms were FILTHY upon arrival, stained linens, spills on walls, sand on the floors, cobwebs, dirty fridge, leftover pizza boxes from prior guests, the list goes on.. -ice maker in fridge doesn’t work -fitness facility doors were a struggle to open, other guests said that they have been asking for awhile for it to be fixed & maintenance does NOTHING. only a few cardio machines, nothing else. no weights or machines! -there was a HUGE barge posted up in the water outside the condo, major eye sore and it was loud at night & bright lights shined into rooms. this totally should have been disclosed prior to booking, it’s been here since JANUARY. -spotty wifi -balcony furniture is WAY too big… can barely utilize the balcony because there is no room! furniture is too...
