Quite disappointing. There is no free breakfast or even snacks in the mornings or afternoons like in most hotels, and there isn't even any coffee or tea in the lobby. For no amenities like this, the room rate at $190 was unacceptably high in my opinion. Looking out the window towardthe parking lot, there were two rotten bananas on the roof right below the window, and it was very difficult to see outside because the glass was so dirty. The vacuum seal had failed on the window pane so there was condensation inside the glass as well as dirt that had not been cleaned in who knows how long. The bathtub was rusty, and the shampoo and body wash dispensers had fallen off the wall where the glue had failed. The staff was friendly, but that cannot make up for the poor quality of the hotel and lack of amenities. I was pleased to see that there were four separate Outlets with USB ports around the room, but it turned out that the that my phone gave me a warning that it could not charge fast enough, and it actually lost charge while I was using it plugged into the USB charging port. I definitely would not recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for my cousins wedding. I tried to book online through their links in wedding plans, the website kept changing my card number so I called and booked in the early morning hours. The woman who took my call told me I was good to go just show up give my name and card. When we showed up I was in fact not good to go. They didn’t have me on the list for any of the hotels on the property. The man and woman working the front desk were very kind and helpful. They got us a room but unfortunately they booked the last double room so we were upgraded to a king suite. Which was helpful, but there were 4 of us and one king bed and a fold out single bed and no room to put a cot if we wanted. We were grateful for them finding us a room but we had to share the bed with one of the kids while the other slept on the fold out couch. The building was well kept and clean. They had a Starbucks in the lobby, pool, small restaurant, and lots of places to eat near by.

Our family came to stay for the mothers day. The room was so nasty. Literally! I stayed on the balcony the whole time we were there. Dry pee in the bathroom floor, hair all over the bathroom and the tub had hair and black stuff in it. Pillows cases was dirty. The floor in the room had bugs all over. The sitting area had some type of dry I don't know if it was spit or whatever IT WAS JUST SO NASTY IN THAT ROOM! Besides that the front desk staff was so understanding about the situation but the second room was half the same. What's crazy I had just seen a women come out the room from “ CLEANING THE ROOM “ and the room was still dirty. The two pools were down. One pool had blood all over which is a safety hazard. We didn't even stay we just packed up and left. Waste of time and money. Great front desk staff doe.

We stayed at the Marriott Courtyard in Hammond Indiana from 9/29/23 to 10/3/23. We're loyal Marriott customers, but this stay didn't measure up to Courtyard's standards. (We realize that the hotel is in the middle of being redecorated, but our problems had nothing to do with that.)||We checked in at midnight on Friday after a long flight delay. The bartender in the "bistro" told us that breakfast would be served until 11am on Saturday. However, the next day they closed at 10am and we missed breakfast. Would it have killed him to consult some official listing of their hours, instead of just guessing? (However, many thanks to the guy who took pity on us on Saturday and got us some cereal and fruit and leftover coffee, even though they were officially closed.)||Speaking of cereal, how is it right for a Courtyard to gradually run out of Kellogg's cereal over the course of a 4-night stay? The first morning there were only two boxes of non-sugary cereal, one (1) Raisin-Bran and one (1) Rice Krispies. We ate them. Then after that first day, it was all sugar-coated so we couldn't have any cereal. Over the following three days there were fewer and fewer little boxes on the shelf. Had they ordered too little? Was it somehow impossible to replenish their stock? ||On the first day there was fresh fruit in cups for sale. It was good. The following days the unsold cups were STILL in the fridge for sale, no longer fresh. Hello? You have to throw away the old fruit when it doesn't sell, and prepare fresh new fruit for your customers.||Our room phone never worked at all. We asked at least twice. We understand that there may have been a good reason for it being out of order. But good customer service would have included a little note saying, "So sorry, the phone can't be repaired because _. Have a nice day!" instead of making us wonder if they were even trying to fix it.||Likewise, on the first day the desk lamp didn't work. We had to ask twice and it finally worked on the third day.||Why didn't they notice that the desk lamp and the phone weren't working and alert us before we checked in?||The first day, we asked the cleaners for some extra coffee and hand soap for the sink, and also for hand lotion of which there was none. They said yes. However, not only didn't they give us any of this, they never serviced our room at all. The next day we specifically asked the desk clerk to get us coffee, and hand lotion and hand soap for the sink, but they only got us a small bottle of hand lotion. No coffee. We've never stayed in a nice hotel before that did not automatically stock the bathroom sink with hand soap and hand lotion. And coffee.||The first day, there was no liquid soap in the dispenser in the shower. How is that even possible? The cleaners simply need to check the dispenser every day. That's the only reliable system for ensuring that the dispenser will not run out.||The third day, although our room was serviced, the cleaners didn't replenish our coffee or coffee cups, nor give us clean water glasses. Don't they have a checklist of things to do in every room, every day?||In general, there's a lack of thoroughness and organization in the management...

On November 23rd, I was searching online for a nice hotel to take my daughter to cause she wanted to go swimming for her 14th birthday. I ran across lots of hotels but after reading a few reviews, I decided to go with the Courtyard by Marriott in Hammond, Indiana. I placed my reservation for Nov. 24th. On the 24th, I checked in around 5:30 pm almost 6 and after receiving the key, we went to the room and changed immediately into swimming gear. As we were changing, we saw a few ants crawling but I didnt really think nothing of it. We went to the pool and stayed intil anout 9 then went back to the room which was 103 to unwind, shower, and relax. As we were winding down, I started to see a few more ants than I seen when I first arrived. They were crawling all over the floor under the desk. I called to inform the front desk of the problem and all they can say was they will get the problem addressed. I cut the light off and proceeded to fall asleep only to be awaken by something crawling up my arms and legs. I jump up and cut the light on and ANTS ARE EVERYWHERE. ALL OVER THE WALLS THE HEADBOARD, THE COVERS, I MEAN EVERYWHERE!!! I DECIDED THAT WAS IT, I CANT DO THIS. I CALLED BACK DOWN TO THE FRONT DESK AGAIN ONLY TO BE APOLOGIZED TO FOR THE PROBLEM IN WHICH THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY ALREADY KNEW ABOUT BUT DID NOTHING ABOUT AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO INFORM MAINTENANCE BUT THEY WERE NOT ON DUTY AT THE TIME. I GRABBED ALL MY BELONGINGS AND MY CHILDREN AND GOT UP OUT OF THERE. I TURNED IN MY KEYS AND CAME HOME. I WAS ONLY THERE FOR A FEW HOURS AND I AM HIGHLY UPSET. I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO TALK TO MANAGEMENT ON MONDAY MORNING TO GET MY REFUND. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED AND WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO MY WORSE ENEMY. I'M PISSED NOT ONLY BECAUSE IT RUINED MY RELAXATION TIME, BUT IT ALSO RUINED MY DAUGHTERS BIRTHDAY PLANS. I WILL BE CONTACTING SOMEONE FIRST THING MONDAY MORNING. AND ANOTHER CRAZY PART ABOUT THIS WHOLE SITUATION, I JUST RAN ACROSS SOME REVIEWS FROM OTHER PEOLE AND ONE PERSON WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT ANTS 5 MONTHS AGO AND IT IS STILL AND ONGOING THING. THIS IS SAD AND...

Wow! Our family has recently switched to traveling and always searching out Marriott Hotels. We found that our old favorite was becoming so pricey, and not always reliable. We had stayed at one of the other Marriott chains in Hammond, but we decided to try the Courtyard for a change. IT. WAS. AMAZING!

The rooms were beautiful and spacious. The pool was smaller than we expected, but, our two daughters were always the only ones swimming. The entire facility was clean and beautifully decorated. But, what set it apart for us were the staff people that we came in contact with. I wish I had taken down everyone's names...they were all so warm and welcoming. Our first night there, the front desk woman made us some microwave popcorn when we came to the lobby to play a board game. She found a bowl, brought a chocolate bar for my girls to share, and made us two bags of popcorn. WHO DOES THIS?!?!? It was so amazing! The woman who was working at the Starbucks was so friendly - my girls and I loved her cheerful personality first thing in the a.m. And, the woman who cleaned our room stopped us the first day and introduced herself, and then the second day we were there, we came back to the hotel after a long day in the city, and she had completely set up our entire room. She arranged all of my girls' stuffed animals and tucked them into bed. She straightened out all the snacks and items that were scattered all over the desk and dresser. She lined up all our shoes. It was so fun to come in to the room and see all the nice touches she had left for us. And, she left us a note greeting us, hoping we were enjoying our stay, and wishing us a great time while we toured Chicago. Again, WHO DOES THIS?

From the second we arrived (early, and they completely accommodated us arriving early - allowed us to check in) we were treated like royalty. Every staff person that was working during our visit (8/22-8/24) solidified in our minds that we are devoted Marriott...
