Terrible Customer Service Experience!!!! I booked a room thru booking.com. for 3 people . My wife my daughter and myself. We decided that we would bring my nephew with us a well. When I arrived the female attendant asked for my reservation. And how many people were staying. Keep in mind my family is in the car so if I wanted to lie I would have all the opportunity to. I said there are 4 of us. Her second question if I had any pets and how big was what size dog I have.i said yes and I told her my dog was 60lbs. She then began to say that they only can accept dogs under 40lbs. I told her that I knew nothing about the policy and had booked thru booking.com. She said that I had also only said that 2 people were staying and there were 4 people. I showed here my reservation email that showed there were 3 of us staying. And she just brushed it off as if it meant nothing. Another person who came after me was waiting to check in so she said brushed me to the side and she said let me take care of him. I thought that was rude. But O. K. So she has already told me I could not stay there because of my dogs weight. And its after midnight and I'm 5 hours from home. What would you do? I started to call local spots to find a room. The first place I called had a room available and it was cheaper than this place. I reserved the room and told her that I reserved one and would not need the room any longer. She said ok and tried to give me some paperwork but mentions nothing else. I wish I would have grabbed it because the next day while reviewing my account they charged me for the room. This is when it gets worse. I them because I figured it had been a mistake and I get a different person that is extremely rude and tells me about all the notes they left him. He begins to act as if I was pulling some scam as he says to me" yes you ordered a room and you showed up with more people and a big dog and then you didn't want to pay for more people" I explained to him that that was not the case and that I wasn't given the option to stay because she told me my dog was to big. He said that I needed to read the policy about the size of the dog. So I also told him that it was through booking.com and he said that it doesn't matter that I need to talk to booking.com or call later when the lady that helped me was there. All the while we was talking to me with this bad attitude like i just stole something from him. I may not get my refund from this fool but I will never come back and I hope that if you read this you will think twice about going here. Btw this place looks nothing like the picture from the outside. I think that they went out off their way to make the pic they used look spectacular with Photoshop. Lol. Beware look at the place on Google maps if possible before you try and go here. It's definitely not the same. Also I stayed down the street at the red roof inn and the lady there was super nice and respectful. Zero stars if it...
Read moreBEWARE ! Read moreI needed a room near Oberlin, OH the Sunday before the RNC. I just needed a place to relax and sleep before I headed back home 4 hours away. I wanted it to be reasonable priced and clean...and away from all the hustle and bustle of the Convention. I booked this room three weeks in advance for $67. It was about a half hour drive from Oberlin (and an hour from Cleveland). Sold. In the half hour driving there I passed horses, cattle countless crop fields and about 8 barns. Upon arriving, I was certain that the room was overpriced. This place looks like it was built in the 70s and has has no exterior updates since. Check in was at 2 and I walked in at 1:59. When I told the clerk I was checking in, she said "we'll see about that". Apparently, the rooms were still being cleaned. Thankfully, mine was ready. Check in afterwards was a breeze. I drove around to my room. Opened the door. First impression...this room was tiny! 2 "doubles" clad in cheap motel bedding, a small table, dresser, nightstand, tiny mini fridge and just enough room to walk between the fixtures. The bathroom is separate from the sink, which I don't quite understand, but I digress. The beds were hard and for some reason moved, even though they weren't on wheels. The room was definitely overpriced! This Econolodge is in the middle of anywhere! What I mean is that it is not far from gas stations, other hotel/motels or plenty of fast food. There is one restaurant where the food is prepared while you wait within a 10 mile radius...Bob Evans. This is not the place you choose to stay. This is the place you stay at because there are no other options! A couple final notes...Ohio is so conservative, they have billboards that read "Don't believe the liberal media". I saw 1 person of color while I was there (2, if you include the owner of this motel). None even in the cars that were sharing the road with me on the drive there or back. I knew I was out of place when the talk of the town, even an hour away from Cleveland, was the RNC. I knew it when the clerk asked if I was going to Cedar Point (because why else would a black woman be there). I have never before in my life been more aware of my blackness and never felt more out of place! I won't return. Pluses, it is clean and...
