My husband called this restaurant in Norwalk Ohio , to ask about the hours for the dinner buffet. We had not eaten there in a couple years. The employee told him that the buffet was open until 8 pm. My husband called them at 6:45pm. We live in Avery Ohio and it took us about 10 minutes to drive there. We arrived about 7 pm. When we arrived we noticed there was only one waitress. There was one table of some teenagers and 4 booths of people , including us. First we went to the salad bar. The salad bar was full. Upon going next to the food section, it was disappointing . No cheese bread sticks, no sandwiches, except for 3 dried out slices, hardly any pizza at all, and what little there was was cold and dried out. No spaghetti, or Alfredo left. Barely any soup. One slice of a apple dessert pizza( grabbed up by someone, no cinnamon sticks!! I mean, no selection at all! Our waitress felt bad, and had a guy in the kitchen make me a small bowl of spaghetti noodles with a little sauce on top. I went up to the front to order a takeout sub to take back to my son. I asked for a manager. There was only a young girl who said that she was "shift manager". I asked her why there was hardly any food set out on the buffet. Her answer was that they quit putting food out a little before 7 pm.!! So if the food is gone at 6 pm...they don't put out more!! I asked them why tell us on the phone the buffet is open till 8 pm!?? (Seriously why would it be open until 8 pm if you aren't served what is advertised on the buffet)?!! She did not have much more to say. While we were there I asked if they could just make one hot pizza. She said the cook would make one cheese pizza. It was brought out and grabbed up immediately by a group of people sitting behind our booth, before we could even get up to get any!! All we ended up eating was salad and my husband had a small bowl of soup and I had that small bowl of spaghetti. We never got any pizza!! Bad management!! They need...
Read moreI do NOT ever complain publicly about a local owned business but I’m so over the horrid customer service the last few months at East of Chicago. Our address (while in town) does not show up in area for the local pizza places. The managers always have to over ride it. Tonight I called and after placing my order the girl told me we were undeliverable. I explained the situation and was told “the computer says your out of area we can’t deliver to you” Now I’m getting frustrated as we have ordered from here NUMEROUS times in the past two years- just last week also. I tell her this and now she says I have to talk to the manager. The manager gets on the phone and has me repeat my name, number, and address. Then asks what I want to order AGAIN 🤦🏻♀️ I said “seriously I just went through this with the other girl?” Her response was to tell me they are refusing me service because I’m yelling. I was not yelling. I was frustrated. We live two blocks from there. We order FREQUENTLY, don’t complain when our order is messed up, and tip the drivers well. Then she hangs up on me. My husband calls and tries to calmly talk to her (while in the background someone is saying “just hang up on them”) and she slams the phone down on him. I guess since her “uncle owns the place” she can be rude to and refuse service to customers that have spent a ridiculous amount of money there. Pizza Post, Marcos, and Pizza Brothers can all attest to us being loyal, polite, and well tipping customers (they all love that I don’t cook😂) So our business they will continue to get. And a tip for those in customer service- being rude to a customer will NEVER fix the situation, only...
Read moreWhen I called the young man I spoke to on the phone seemed very anxious to get off the phone. I started out with 2 subs and garlic bread he then gives me a total and asks me if its going to be cash or credit. I then told him I wasn't done with my order he apologized and finally added the last thing and the sauce to my order. Then he gives me my total said it would be here when its get here and hangs up. Never even got to pay for my order. I then called them back same young man answers I tell him I never got to pay for my order, I then pay for it and he hangs up again. When my order arrived it did come nice and hot which is awesome however me and my fiance was unhappy with the subs. For the price of a 12 inch it could have been filled better then they are. I ordered a Chicken Bacon Ranch Sub when i took a bite of my sub it was mostly bread ranch and bacon. There was hardly any chicken or cheese on this sub. Couldn't even eat the second part. I use to love East of Chicago Subs back in the day and I can say I'm very unhappy with my experience, and the portions we received for the price we paid. Just wasn't the same like it was...
