Our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Norwalk CT in June 2025 was Horrible.|When we arrived we asked to see a room before we checked in. The young man at the counter said he couldn’t do that. So we were going to leave. Then he asked another man standing behind the counter if he would show us a room. As he took us to look at the room he said “I hope you have your walking shoes on.” Referring to the distance the room was from the front desk. There was a back door right by the room, which he said we could use, however the key pad wasn’t working properly so we may not be able to get in from that door. We found that this door was propped open most of the time.|We checked into the room for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. We were charged for 3 nights, a total of $584.20. We were told that there was no free coffee or breakfast. If we wanted a hot breakfast it would cost $18.00 each and if we wanted a cold breakfast it would cost $13.00 each. |Saturday morning we discovered that the coffee machine in the room did not work. We had instant coffee, hot chocolate and Cappuccino and traveling snacks with us. We then discovered the glass tray in the microwave was not for that microwave, so it did not turn and the cups made it tip a bit. When we went out that day, I walked down to the front desk and reported the problems. When we returned the coffee maker had been replaced. Nothing had been done with the microwave. Then we discovered they had taken our boutique bag with our coffee and snacks. I went down to report this. First they said “well maybe they thought you had checked out” (With all our items in the room?) Then he said well I’ll check into it. NO SORRY or compensation offered. We heard nothing more on that.|Sunday when we returned to the room, our keys would not work. I went to the front desk and was told that they thought we were checking out that morning. However the manager had extended our stay and he would redo our keys. (???) When we got into the room, it had not been cleaned. The bed was not made, no clean towels and no coffee for the coffee maker. I went back to the front desk and asked why the room was not cleaned. Before he could say anything another guest came in the door and said “when the hell are you going to fix the other doors? You could have bought 2 new doors with just what I have paid you.” Obviously the door issue was not new. Once again with no SORRY or compensation offered for our room not being cleaned and our keys not working, he begrudgingly gave me 2 coffees and said that someone would bring towels. |When we received our credit card statement it has another charge of $194.35 for our stay. So to top everything else we were charged for 4 nights for a 3 night stay. |If this is how Hiltons are run we will stick...
Read moreGreat location, comfortable room, and the cleaning service works really hard and did a wonderful job, but I would not recommend this hotel for long-term stay due to its HORRIBLE SERVICE.
I had a scratch on my car RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE HOTEL PARKING LOT. I understand it is not the hotel's fault, all I wanted is the security footage. Yet, the front-desk simply stated that there is no security camera at the parking lot, I should park somewhere that has less car to avoid that. And I asked if there' s a manager that would help me with this incident, I got no response.
Got charged once for the breakfast that I did not have to pay (my company is associated with Hilton). When I mentioned to the front desk she just said "you should have told us you were from XXXX). Well I stated I am from this company when I checked in. And I lived here for almost 50 days.
Hilton Garden Inn resident has free access to LA fitness, no one told me about it until my colleague mentioned, at that time I have already paid for the membership. When I ask the front desk, the response is "we have free access in LA fitness for five years already." Well, What kind of attitude is this? So it is my fault that no one told me about your rules? Moreover, this is a really amazing benefit of this hotel. yet NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT IT.
I got hung up the phone once I was asking about the dry-cleaning service, I have not finished my sentence and got hung-up, horrible feeling, horrible service.
Horrible internet/wifi. There are three ways for accessing the internet in this hotel: type in the Hilton honors member #, type in your room number & name, or type in special code. Only the third option works, and sometimes it does not (front desk also states that they do not know what to do about it, and accused me for typing the wrong code). It is really hard to believe a hotel in this level cannot even manage an internet service.
There is ads about its digit key everywhere in the hotel, it means that you can use your mobile phone as room key. Yet it never work, and the front desk does not know how to fix it. ( I have a recent Iphone)
The only thing I like about this hotel is the cleaning service, they work so hard and did a wonderful job everyday.
The breakfast is quite good, the variety does not change, but I still...
Read moreWell, I give 2 stars for a lot of reasons 1- the customer service each one of the reception ladies were not welcoming at all, from the moment we tried to check in n all throughout our stay. Communication felt very racist towards the white patrons, where rolling eyes accompanied your questions. When you said hello, they just rolled their eyes and continued to talk to their co-workers as the feeling we all got was uncomfortable. Even down to the breakfast, the lady was crude in her voice when asked about the breakfast. It seemed like we were bothering her. When we checked in around 2:45pm, the receptionist was disalarming in her tone of voice as we were told our room was not ready yet when we asked if we should come back at 3pm will it be ready than n we were told she doesn't know. When we arrived back at the hotel after 3pm, still no room for us. When we finally got a room, it was dirty n unsanitary that I had to run to the store and buy cleaning supplies to clean the room ourselves, this is the Hilton garden hotels where a nite stay is close to$150- $200 a nite. The room should have been spotless enough to have eaten off the floors. Though it was not that way... bathroom had urine stains on the base of the toilet bowl as well as urine stains on the floor. The water pressure that came out of the shower head was insanely rough beating on your back as i was not able to shower without getting a beatin as you were unable to change the water pressure. .... Coffee pot was filthy that you would rather not even touch it, no less, make a cup of coffee in it. Then, on top of it, there was a couple having sex in the jacuzzi in the gym. A lady locked the door to the pool area so that just her and her kids could use it. A lot of drunk guests were screaming in the hallway late at nite, disturbing n arguing with other guests through the hotel. There is no complimentary coffee or breakfast. There is a bar n grill open for breakfast n dinner at a very high price with lousy service. We didn't even get out complimentary members' bag. I highly don't recommend this hotel when there are plenty more hotels on that strip that treat their patrons...
