This Christmas, my aunt (who lives in AZ) decided to buy what she thought was a travel size Baccarat Rouge 540 by Maison Francis Kurkdjian for me to take with me while I travel for work. Turns out, it was not the fragrance, it was the Gold travel case meant to be filled with the travel size fragrance. When I opened the box, I realized it and informed her, to which she encouraged me to return it. Since I'm home for Christmas, I decided to take it to Neiman Marcus in Oakbrook, IL. When we were greeted by the sales associate at the Maison counter, she was not personable. I proceeded to explain that I was there to return the item because it was not what my aunt thought she was buying so I wanted her to get the money credited back to her account. The sales associate began to "educate" me, telling me the case is a very nice case and is meant to hold perfume. I informed her that because I've worn Baccarat Rouge 540 for quite some time, I'm aware. I then told her I'd still like to return the item. She told me that is something she would not do and advised me to mail the product back to my aunt so that she can return it to the "online" Neiman Marcus because they do not take returns. When I asked her to show me that policy, she declined. I explained that I've returned items before to Neiman Marcus and had recently returned an online purchase to Macy's, to which she replied "Well we aren't Macy's". I asked to speak to her manager. She pointed and said "She's over there. Feel free to talk to her". I explained the situation to the manager, and without hesitation, she asked the sales associate to go forward and process the return. After the manager walked away, the sales associate remained on hold with customer service and told me she was not going to refund the money without verifying with the online customer service that she could take it back. Appalled, I said "the manager just gave you the okay to proceed with the return, so why are you still refusing to refund the money?" She responded "Because we don't take online returns so I must check with them". I called the manager back over and again, the manager asked her to proceed with the return. She then hung the phone up and walked away. She asked me to move to the next register and processed the return. There was no apology for the mix up, no acknowledgement of the rude behavior, and no thank you for your business. I can tell you that I personally love Neiman Marcus and I've traveled all over the US and patronized many Neiman Marcus locations. I am so disappointed at the level of service I received at this location. You'd think with so many stores closing due to the pandemic, there would be more hospitality and appreciation to customers who continue to spend their hard earned money. I hope that this review is looked at as an opportunity to re-train the sales associate in the area of soft skills. Until then, I'll continue to buy my things from...

They have curbside pickup, for when i shop on line, an added benefit that i absolute enjoy, given i dont have to wait at home for the delivery, additionally having peace of mind my purchase will be delicately handled, prepared for pickup at my convenience
Managers are also friendly business professionals, who along with corporate members listen and prioritize business around their clientele clearly setting an example, as well as empowering associates to deliver exceptional service thereby making every experience perfect.
I recently had an issue with an Yves Saint Laurent tote, which needed to be sent out for repair and when the repair was not to my full satisfaction Ms. Maya Radicanin one of the mangers addressed the issue with the luxury company, who fell short of my expectation but nevertheless Ms. Maya Radicanin ascertained a positive outcome, my total and complete satisfaction, in the matter, and in doing so affording me the confidence that I can trust Neiman Marcus for a complete satisfaction, in any shopping experience.
Neiman Marcus definely treats clients with outmost care and respect, which is in my opinion, a truly important aspect of any company's success, and a very important reason behind why i love giving Neiman Marcus my business.
When preparing for any holiday or special event, I know I will definitely find something special and perfect for any given occasion.
I recommend Neiman Marcus and will definitely continue to return!

What separates these women from the other associates within this store is not only will they never bat a negative eye at you, but they are tirelessly patient with meeting your every need and question with kindness. They never push or act bored, and they always make you feel welcome. Now here is why the store gets a 1 star (and honestly, the only reason this store gets 1 is because A. google won't allow anything less, and B. because those women are the only saving graces within this particular store. Without fail, every single time I go into this Neiman Marcus, I find myself in a Pretty Woman situation. I almost always brush it off, thinking it was funny because the commission will go to someone who actually treats me with the respect that I deserve, but now I've had just about enough of it. A manager by the name of Karen is by far the rudest person that I have dealt with at that store, and she's honestly lucky that even though I may not have been wearing the couture gowns I was returning so a neon sign saying "she has money" is lit across my body, I still have enough class to keep quiet and let other people's true colors show. Let me assure you, she is not the sole reason for such a low rating- I very literally get treated, or looked at in this way.. rude tones, not interested in what I have to say, people looking down their noses at me, etc. -but the way Karen treated me and made me feel definitely pushed me over the edge. Shame on her and shame on the people running this store for not making it clear that EVERY customer that walks through those doors should be treated with the same exact kindness and respect as any other customer, regardless of how much money it looks...
