This is not what I'd consider a 'luxury' experience; there are so many other restaurants nearby that can offer a better experience & food.
I came here for Sunday morning brunch with a couple of friends and while we were all initially impressed with the restaurant itself and the experience, we could not say the same regarding the food.
To start, I ordered something simple and opted for a lunch Truffle grilled cheese with fries, and all I could say is what a joke. My friends ordered off of the brunch menu and ordered the Avocado toast, RH scramble, and all ordered orange juice. They were also not please with with their plates; we all thought the food was not very seasoned & bland. We brought this to the attention of our waiter and he took our plates away to address with the kitchen; he came back about 5 minutes later and bought back our plates. We all received our plates back and nothing changed, our food still tasted bland. Disappointed, we just finished our food (portions were very small), asked for the check, and paid & left. The waiter also didn't seem too happy either and almost seemed like he's been through this motion before.
What was equally numbing about this 'experience' was how uberly overpriced the food was, which honestly, was below average. The truffled grilled cheese I ordered was $20; I tasted more hints of oil than the truffle or cheese not to mention this was regular size bread so there was nothing special about it. The fries were soggy and just bland. My friends also mentioned the scrambled eggs were overly cooked with no seasoning and the avocado toast was not even completely spread on my other friends toast. The orange juice was just average and arguably better quality than the food (not even joking).
We all agreed to never return and the only reason why I'm giving this 1 star is for the atmosphere & views. Sadly, this wasn't enough to win us over as customers and likely won't for many others. We live in Chicago where there are so many great brunch spots and restaurants where I'd much rather eat for the price, flavor, and better overall experience.
Highly do not recommend especially if you're expecting an elevated brunch or...
Read moreWe were very disappointed. I put in the reservation notes that we were celebrating our anniversary, and the server nor the waiter made any mention of if. When we walked in we were greeted by 2 very cold hostesses who seemed to truly hate their jobs. Their attitude when we walked in was almost that we were inconveniencing them as we were checking in. As we walked through the restaurant I noticed that the tables are crammed in very close to each other. The restaurant packs their guests in there like sardines. Then we got to our table which was shoved in the back corner of the restaurant. Typically when my husband or I make a note in the reservation that we are celebrating something, we are congratulated and given priority seating. We received neither of those things, actually we got the worst seats in the house next to the freezing cold vent. We sat down and ordered our drinks with an appetizer, but the bar service was extremely slow. The drinks finally arrived after we finished our appetizer. Not to mention they don’t have a cocktail menu, which was very surprising considering their prices. Throughout our meal we were swatting away flies and gnats…..disgusting. My husband ordered the steak “medium”, and it came out “well done”. Our server, Quinn, noticed what a terrible time we were having and offered us a free dessert, which was a nice touch. As if the flies swarming us during our meal wasn’t enough to ruin our appetites, the hostess starts cleaning the floor and chairs next to us with a very loud Dyson vacuum. I don’t know about you, but when I go to a restaurant with a dress code and spend almost $300 on a dinner for 2, I prefer not to have someone literally vacuuming inches away from me. I was expecting much better food and service given the prices, but frankly the restaurant is Cheesecake Factory quality and service with Michelin...
Read moreTo be so honest. I LOVE ME SOME FOOD. My boyfriend and I had a reservation at 5:15pm. We showed up at 5:05pm and got seated right away. We got seated near the window of the closed rooftop so I felt a little breeze but nothing crazy. I was wearing a dress and wasn’t cold or bothered by it. We didn’t order any drinks-just sticked to water. One of the best waters I’ve had at a restaurant in a while. If you drink water, you get me!!! Then we didn’t get any appetizers. We just ordered. My boyfriend got the RH burger and added avocado. I got the lobster roll, and we ordered 2 of the regular french fries. To be honest the food was really overpriced but being realistic, we’re in Oakbrook, and also the ambiance is gorgeous! So I guess you get what you pay for. My boyfriend gets burgers anywhere and he said it was great. I had the lobster roll and probably inhaled it to be honest. The brioche bread reminds me of canes texas toast soooo yuppp it was delish. The fries were good with the aioli they gave it with. My boyfriend didn’t like the aioli though. It was a garlic kind I think. The ambiance was definitely there! The service was super fast too. We got our food right after we ordered it felt like. We were there for about 50 minutes even with us two yapping while we ate! The bathrooms are so nice and clean and individual bathrooms! There’s like 6 I think. We also took photos on the stairs leading up to the restaurant. Def insta worthy. We also looked around the furniture … super cute. Our total for one burger with avocado, one lobster roll, and 2 fries was $83.85 then tipped $16.15 so spent $100 for just two people. Would not say budget friendly, but we definitely plan on coming in the summer when the...
