I absolutely fell in love with the Classen Inn in Oklahoma City! This little boutique hotel is super retro with a modern touch. The one staff member that I talked to was so helpful and friendly! The room was a little small but for a two night stay, it was perfect!! Would definitely recommend💕 #oklahoma #oklahomacity #okc #okcstaycation #roadtrip #okieadventures #classeninnokc #boutiquehotels

I hate to give this review because I loved all the special touches. The design was exactly what I wanted. So much attention to detail, and so much money spent on what I’m sure was a dream. However, the floor was absolutely disgusting. There had obviously been a leak in that room at some point, the ac or fridge, we couldn’t decide where. The whole room wreaked of mold and mildew, which I’m highly allergic to. I think I slept 2 hours the whole night because of the smell. I would have looked over the bad part of town it was in because it is a city after all, and I would have dealt with the noise because again it’s in a city but the fact that they rented that room to us was a perfect example of their low standards. Another side note, I rented that room because they have a “strict no pets policy” because I’m allergic to dogs and cats. The first thing we were greeted by was a lady taking her giant dog , I think it was a Malamute, out of her room for a late night walk. This is a perfect example of why a contactless check in isn’t great. The girl at the desk (open till 9pm, sometimes) said that the owner lives on property. This leads me to believe that they must be aware of at least some of the happenings including the poor upkeep of the motel. It’s a shame that they put all that thought and money into this building and aren’t keeping it up properly. I hope this changes because this property has great potential. I was thoroughly disappointed.

The "Inn" is an old converted 60's motel on a busy street. As opposed to some converted '60s motels around the country that are cool and hip, this one is not. It's located about a 20-minute walk from the closest trolley stop. There's an awesome diner located a few minutes walk. But its certainly not located in the center of things. My room was decently large and had an interesting paint job. The carpet was a disgusting mess (see the photo). The bed was decent but the bedspread looked like it was still from the 60s. Pretty disgusting. Hot water only gets to warm and water pressure is poor. My room had a partial leftover meal still in the refrigerator. The AC unit in my room was exceedingly noisy, like something's definitely wrong kind of noisy. I asked for someone to look at it and they were quick to do so. Unfortunately they we're also quick to say that that's just how it goes. Luckily it was cool enough that the AC wasn't necessary. If you need a cheap stay in Oklahoma City this will fit the bill. It won't be particularly pleasant. But it gets you an overnight accommodation.

I was looking for a cute theme-y place to stay for the weekend while my partner and I were at the mushroom festival, and this place absolutely did not disappoint! It is an adorable remodeled retro-themed art motel within very easy driving distance of just about anywhere in OKC.

To anyone considering staying here, keep these things in mind: -It is an old motel with not a ton of "modern" amenities. The road it's located on is also fairly busy from around 7 AM to 8 PM, and while we weren't bothered by noise from our neighbors (it was fully booked while we were here), the street noise was very audible. It does quiet down significantly at night, though. -It is located on the very edge of a higher-class neighborhood (the neighborhood behind it is quite nice, but in front is a poorer/industrial area). I wouldn't say it's a bad/dangerous location overall, just remember you're in the middle of a big city and be street smart. We went for a nighttime walk and never once felt "off". The "nice" neighborhood behind it is also very pleasant/pretty at night, there's a great view of the lit-up skyscrapers at night at the top of the hill and a public park about a five minute's walk away! -I might be wrong, but I do get the impression that this place is run/maintained by a small team. There was only one gal at the front desk and I think she might have been the owner/property manager? She did mention we had to specifically request refreshed towels, rags, and toiletries if we needed them, as housekeeping doesn't visit (occupied) rooms daily. -Some of the artwork in rooms might be considered "risqué": it's a 60s/70s pop culture vibe, so there's some very mild nudity and drug themes. (Very hippie/psychedelic -- there's a reason this place was fully booked during the mushroom festival!) I personally loved the artwork and wouldn't have been bothered by it if I'd brought kids, but I'm also building a career as a drug educator, so I'm very comfortable talking openly about things (and explaining things in age-appropriate ways) that might make other people a little uncomfortable.

Only two issues came up during our stay: -The front office was closed the entire time we were there. Not a big deal, as you can call/email about anything you need and someone will come to your room, but I do wish we could have spent more time at the "Superette". This does make sense if it is a small team running the place. -At around 1 AM on our second night, some loud, blaring alarm went off in our room. We were in the shower and my partner had opened the door to grab a washcloth from the sink, which released quite a bit of steam into the room, so we thought we might have accidentally triggered the fire alarm; it stopped after around five seconds, though. We couldn't confirm what it was because it went off right as he had gotten back in the shower and stopped when he opened the door to check on it. Never heard it again, even when we opened the door after we had finished. Just hope it didn't wake any of our neighbors, since it gave us enough of a startle as it was.

With all of that said, I've fallen in love with this place. The rooms are on the smaller side but very cozy, the beds are squishy and comfy, and while there wasn't a tub in our bathroom, the shower was open and very spacious. The patio out front is also amazing and I want one of those swinging basket chairs for myself now! If you enjoy making your own fun, find joy in simple novelty, and want to stay somewhere with personality, Classen Inn is a gem! I 100% plan to stay here again for next year's mushroom festival and will keep it in mind if we need to stay overnight in OKC between now and...

My family and I planned to take our family photos at this location. We have teens and it looked like such a cute place to take some photos. With that in mind I booked a room. Simply just to take photos in… thank god!

We arrived to a completely empty hotel. Not a single car in the lot. Ghost town. I was given a contactless check in earlier that afternoon. However, I didn’t realize contactless meant contact wasn’t even going to be available. We were exited to see the cute lobby. Grab a soda and explore the property. There was a sign on the door that said sorry, lobby closed early today. It wasn’t even 4 pm…….. check in STARTS at 3. After we had been there an hour and a half and were wrapping up our photos someone who worked there pulled up. She went inside then as she was leaving she asked “have you taken photos here before?” We told her no so she proceeded to tell us their policy…… never once did she ask if we were paying customers!!! But she did ask us to tag them in our photos….

The room was cute however, the bed is small. The white pillow cases were stained with all sorts of stains. I didn’t check the rest of the bed because we didn’t plan to stay. But the pillow cases were enough ick for me.

The main patio was cute but there was trash and leafs everywhere. I wanted to take photos of my family on the patio but it was so messy we couldn’t make that happen.

The area is full of transients with a constant flow of them walking through the parking lot in the hour and a half we were there. While I understand the hotel can’t control the locals I do know I would have zero confidence in parking my car overnight or staying there alone. A security guard or 24 lobby attendant would make a major difference in my opinion.

So to round this out, cute for pictures. But save your money on a room. I wouldn't be able to tell you how the ownership or management was being they...

WARNING ⚠️ CATFISH HOTEL! Where do I even begin?? Please read!!!!

My husband and I are not picky people and really just needed a place to sleep over the weekend while we were in town. The rooms are tiny and the walls are paper thin. Bed is very small- Full size. We have a queen at home and it is not a queen. Think college dorm room accommodations.

All of the cute pictures you see online- do not shine through in person. It was dingy and felt more like a rent by the hour type place- if you catch my drift. The decor in our room was so odd. Lots of semi-nudity artwork. Also, the search history on the tv was pretty wild. e.g. “Sex music”.

Location is not great. You can hear all of the traffic and riff raff outside. Lots of sketchy people around the property.

⚠️ 🚩Our biggest complaint is the fact that there was an all out BRAWL in the middle of the night directly outside of our room in the parking lot. We were actually scared to even stand up out of bed, because there was talk of a gun outside. It was completely insane! The police even showed up! Sirens, lights, fighting, screaming and a gun. We were both anxiety ridden all night and didn’t sleep a wink. Fighting continued throughout the night as well.

🙅DO NOT STAY HERE. Swing by and take a picture for the gram if you want, but do NOT stay here! $100/night is ridiculous for what you get. NOT worth it.

Also, all the cute stuff you see in the pictures in the room and lobby and ridiculously marked up. We were charged $4.35 for 2 generic small water bottles.

Oh yeah, one last thing, we were in town celebrating our anniversary. Put it on the reservation and it was never once mentioned.

Left a message with front desk staff for management to contact me- still haven’t heard anything. I was also told that I was not the only guest who was waiting on a call back...
