Completely unaccommodating service. I have gotten my hair cut here several times and it has always been great. Awesome atmosphere and very skilled barbers. Everything is wonderful as long as you operate strictly on their terms. I was running ten minutes late and I called to let them know and I was unequivocally told they could no longer accommodate me, unless I wanted just a quick clean up. A quick clean up is $15. I am not paying $15 when I will have to come back in a week and pay $30 for a regular haircut. For the record my cuts usually only take twenty to twenty-five minutes start to finish, not the full thirty minutes for which they allocate.
It is unfortunate when a service provider believes that they are so special that they forget that the job is to take care of the customer. I work in the restaurant industry and if a guest took the time to call to advise they were running late I would figure out a way to accommodate them, even if I was booked solid. If a customer takes the time to extend you a courtesy you can certainly do the same in return.
I understand that it may be a bit of a hardship, but when you provide a service you find a way to make it work for the customer whenever possible. There are many skilled barbers in this city, and the only thing that truly sets them apart is the level and type of customer service they provide. After years as a loyal Lakeside Barber customer I chose to take my business to Midtown Barbers because of the ability to make an appointment, which worked better for my busy schedule. I thought I had found a great place to get my hair cut for years to come. Unfortunately it appears I was mistaken, as poor customer service is always a deal...
Read moreFollowed my barber to his New barber shop. I've had my hair done by Chad and Michael and they do a stellar job. They hire top notch guys and they do a great job. The shop itself is beautiful. It's open and spacious and very homey. Comfy waiting area with power recliners so you can come early, grab a complementary drink, and watch the game while you wait. It's an homage to the classic old school barber shop. I'd give out six stars if I could.
If you're new to the barber shop scene or if you're looking for a change of scenery, this is the place to be
-I need to come back and update my review. I moved away from OKC early in 2023, I was never able to find a barber that I trusted after I left. My first time back to OKC in early April of '24, I made a point to come see Michael Arms because I know he takes pride in what he does and will give me that quality cut. Fell right back in like I never left and the atmosphere was exactly the same as I had listed above. Only thing that changed seemed to be they gained years of experience. I'm updating this in early July '24 and haven't had anyone touch my hair in the 2 months post cut, and I'm still getting compliments on my hair from people thinking I've just had it redone. Makes me sad that I can't realistically recommend midtown to people here in Chicago because of the distance, or that I can't go back more often for myself. Thanks Michael and...
Read moreAs a spectator I’m not sure these guys realized the level of unprofessionalism displayed as they whispered to clients at their previous place of employment. I was contacted on multiple occasions via text and e-mail as they were setting up shop. Sounds like they were up to no good. I’m not sure how they even got my information but I did not give it to them to use to solicit me…and to use another business as their billboard is just….well…gross. It persists if you look at their social media etc. They seem to really want to mimic another shop in town that appears to have set the standard.
In response to the owner's comment on my original post:
The saying actually goes- ‘Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery’, not jealousy. Ironic choice of a statement. As for being an inside job, I’m not sure what you are referring to-if I am a supporter of your previous place of employment-yes, I am. But I am, in fact, a REAL BOY that has received more than one haircut from your barbers. I have also received numerous outreach attempts from you guys. When you find me in your database, please remove me, as I do not wish to be contacted any longer. If only all businesses could call every negative...
