Have stayed at the Hampton in Oklahoma City twice. And each stay I found the location and staff offered everything I look for in accommodations. And there are a variety of restaurants and other small businesses with walking distance. During my stays, Sammy and Kierha at the front desk were both friendly and professional and I have found my rooms to be clean and spacious. I highly recommend the Hampton. Just an FYI for guests that experience problems with their room "key cards" not working. I ran into the same problem a few years ago at another hotel in California. The reason the "key cards" stop working is because they are just like the recording tape you find in a cassette or reel to reel recorder. "They are "magnetic" recording tape. If they are placed on or near any other magnetic object or device, there is a very good chance that the information encoded on them will be erased or rendered unreadable the next time you try to use it. Even having another magnetic encoded card positioned where the two magnetic recording strips come in contact with each other, will most likely cause one or both cards to not work properly, the next time they are used. And it is amazing how many things in our wallets, ladies purses, pockets etc. are magnetic or emit some kind of magnetic or electrical signal etc. The answer to the problem is note where you are storing your "key card" while you are away from your room and whether or not you are carrying any kind of electrical or magnetic emitting device that could unintentionally erase or scramble the information recorded on your "key card". Once I was informed about the drawbacks to " magnetic strip key cards", I always make sure I don't place them where they can get erased or unreadable. Haven't had the...
Read moreBooked a king suite jetted tub room for a family friend at this location, the first issue was the uncleanness of the rooms, they were unvacuumed and the bedsheets were dirty, leaving questions of sanitation issues on arrival. When staff was notified they sent someone to come clean up the room leaving her to wait for a room that was paid for already and past her check in time. My family friend was then contacted the following morning by staff asking her to not use the tub anymore provided in the room because it was leaking to the room below. The staff was very unprofessional when informed of this hazard. Understandably my family friend requested she be able to bath or they should give her a room she could bath in as she still had about 6 hours until she needed to check out and already had to wait for them to clean the room when she arrived. They refused and then proceeded to tell her she should not be using the tub so early anyways as it is a noise disturbance to other guests! I picked and paid for this room because of the jet tub and it shouldn't matter what time the tub is being used in a room we are paying for that has this "special" feature. It is also not established when booking this suite that there are timeframes on when the tub can be used. The staff is on edge, rude and lacks professional communication skills. You should not talk over, raise your voice, CURSE or argue with your customers, especially when you are not up to your own standards. I do not recommend this location and feel bad for my friend's experience here since I was trying to do the opposite and give her a break from life for a day only for it to turn...
Read moreI called and could not hardly understand the customer service rep so I asked for a supervisor. I got a young, clear, English-speaking woman who sounded nice. (or so I thought) I have used this hotel many times to rent rooms for my friends who come in town and for my wife and I for some down time away from the kids. I called to check on accommodation for a "day date" for our 20 year anniversary since we do not have an overnight sitter. (11 am to 4 pm) Unique request I understand but I proceed. I ask about an early check-in and early check-out with a hot tub and let the manager know we are close, and she quickly said "we don’t rent rooms to locals". I said, "So, I cannot even pay you for a room for a whole night?" and she said no and HUNG UP ON ME! :( There is a saying that goes like this "Never let policy overrule common sense." -Delta I know hotels don't have to accommodate unique requests but even if you decline at least be respectful and kind. Makes me sad. For all you readers out there, please treat others the way you want to be treated. Let's be as kind as we can be and even more so than we might think a person deserves. If this person worked for me she would be fired. I will not ever give my business to Hampton Inn again. Thanks for reading. Have...
