My husband and I stayed here for almost 2 months while he was in Oklahoma City for job training. I could not imagine staying anywhere better, Home2 Suites really felt like home. We were staying with our dog and anyone who has ever travelled with a pet before knows how difficult it can be to find a decent pet friendly hotel - It is especially difficult to find one which does not charge outrageous fees for pets or sticks you in a gross, run down room.
But Home2 Suites was awesome! Everything in our room was nice and new, very stylish and we loved the kitchen! The front desk also has induction cooktops for guests to borrow during their stay, which really helped us save money since we could cook in the room rather than dine out for 2 months! Our room also had a full size dishwasher, deep kitchen sink, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, midsize fridge and all utensils/plates you could need.
The staff is amazing, anytime we had a question, problem or concern they always did their best for us. The ladies at the front desk are super helpful, very nice, friendly and were always happy to see our little corgi! They even had little packets of treats for her that the hotel has for pets. They are the best hotel staff I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with and I have stayed in hotels all across the country and overseas. When it came time for us to check out my husband and I were both a little sad since we came to like the place so much and felt like we were part of the family there!
The hotel also has an overnight security guard who patrols the parking lot all night which really adds peace of mind when you are staying in an unfamiliar place. There is also a nice laundry room inside the gym (card entry only, which I really liked) so you can work out while you wait for your laundry! The gas fire pit out front is a nice touch and was very nice to sit by on a chilly night.
For an extended stay type of hotel (especially if you are there for job training or business) this is quite possibly the nicest place in town and very close to the airport. I would absolutely recommend staying here and if we travel back to OKC this is 100% where we will be...
Read moreHome 2 Suites Oklahoma City South is a great place to stay. I spent 3 weeks there and had a great stay. Maria and Christina at the front desk were amazing Anytime I needed something or had a question to ask, they were there to help. If you are lucky, and you forget your laundry in the dryer in the evening, one of them might even fold it for you before you come back to get it đ.
Rooms are nicely furnished and vary depending on if you have a 2 queen, single king, or king suite. I had a single king with a sleeper sofa and both were comfortable. Kitchen has a dorm style mini fridge, sink, microwave, dishwasher, dishes for cooking, and dishes for 6 people. There is no stove, however there are counter top burners available at the front desk. Living area of the room (across from bed and couch) has a nice desk, roll out table, dresser with drawers and 2 cabinets, 2 book shelves, and small closet area. Bathrooms are nice and I always had hot water.
Cons for the room for me at least, are the TV's are not smart tv's and the tv guide (channel 1) is horrible. There is free WIFi though slow (10mps for me) and there is High Speed internet but it is $5/day. There were connections for hardline internet in the rooms but I never got it to work. Hallway doors are loud at times but not unbearable, and whoever was above me either walked heavily or the floors/ ceilings are poorly insulated and can be distracting at times.
Location of the hotel is great as it is centrally located south of downtown and centrally located between Mike Maroney Aeronautical Cemter (FAA)/Ok City Airport and Tinker Air Force Base. It will take a bit longer to get to the north side areas of town but nothing unbearable. There are lots of places to eat and just about any store you could need within a short distance.
Bottom Line If you are looking for a great place to stay outside of downtown with great staff and high speed internet is not a must, I highly recommend this hotel for your next stay in...
Read moreSo I travel weekly and this was my first time in OKC and at a Home2. While very modern, I found the rooms so large it was quite weird. The décor was horrible; a mix between the 70s and a LGBTQ nightmare. The A/C in the room didn't control right, the temperature never seemed to reach setpoint and maintain temp. My living room area was covered in ants, they were crawling out of the A/C unit and I was on the 3rd floor. The kitchen was large, was stocked with plenty of stuff to cook with and even a dishwasher, but NO STOVE. Only a microwave. So I found it to be totally useless to even have all this stuff to cook with, and no method other than a microwave to cook with. The bathroom was huge, fogless mirrors, but I was given a handicap room, even though I paid a rate for another type of room. The front desk staff was a mix, the gentlemen in the evening was quite helpful but the two ladies in the morning were useless. Breakfast was absolutely horrible. The food was in microwavable pouches (think gas station food) and I couldn't even stomach one bite of the sandwich. The breakfast alone is the one reason my I will never stay at a Home2 again. Very disappointing even though Hilton is my "go-to" chain of choice. There was a Hampton next door, I would go there. Location was good, and even close to the airport noise level wasn't too bad. There was plenty of places to eat within a few miles of the hotel. Parking was bad. Bad layout. Not that many spots. Just bad... Housekeeping seemed decent but keep in mind sheets are only changed weekly as they only "touch-up" the rooms daily, and clean it once per week. WIFI was a nightmare. The room-assigned WIFI never worked, so you had to use the "Lobby" WIFI, which everyone was on, so it was incredibly slow, even if you got a...
