The hotel is great with two exceptions with two exceptions during my experience. When we checked in at 9:30 p.m. last night we had just come off a 20 hour train ride which was delayed due to ice and snow. We were so exhausted getting off the auto train we could not drive home to fort Lauderdale so we made a reservation here. When we arrived the young thin girl behind the counter checked me in. One of the things I said is I'm so exhausted I just came off of a 20 hour train ride. She gave me no response at all just kept looking at the computer. Then she told me they ran out of king size beds that I reserved and that they only had a queen size bed. I was unhappy and very surprised thinking that we would be in a queen size bed she never said that there would be two queen size beds. So I assumed it was one bed.When I went out to tell my husband he said no ask if there are two queen beds and when I did I asked her and she says yeah that's what it is two queen beds but she was making the "duh" face to me which actually offended me. Then when we grabbed all of our luggage and went to the elevator there was a giant bag of towels and a giant bag of garbage in the elevator with no one in it just the two huge bags we could barely get in and it was a huge turn off.
At that point I was done with the hotel. The turnaround came when we found our room to be very clean with a very comfortable bed. I soon started to relax and I ended up having a great night sleep. At 8:30 a.m. we went down to eat breakfast and everyone was friendly which was a nice surprise. Food was very good as well and so was the coffee! Read moreLuckily, I only stayed 2 nights; had I stayed longer I would be much worse. TV wasn’t working first night and last morning of the entire stay. Very inconvenient that my family and I couldn’t watch TV together. We had to watch on our phones SEPARATELY and didn’t get to bond over our favorite show. Not only that, when I called, I called the first night and asked somebody to come up, nobody ever did! It was already late so I left it alone. The next day, my family and I were out for the day but I wanted to make sure we come back to an operating TV so I called and asked for somebody to go in our room and make sure the TV was working before we got back, and to give me a call back. Didn’t get a call back all day & on the way back I called again to find out NOBODY CHECKED. The front desk lady said she’ll go check herself just for her to get the room number wrong & checked the wrong room! Then when she realized she got the room wrong, she sounded annoyed! She went up to our room and finally fixed it and it was already past 9, my family and I are tired. We just wanted to lay down and watch TV together but had to wait. The next morning TV WASNT WORKING AGAIN! I said forget it, never staying here again. Only took 3 separate calls to get something fixed. I am in Orlando on a business trip and arrive at the front desk where Tyanna greeted me. I proceed to tell her my name and ask if she could add my Hilton rewards number to the reservation; this is where this gets interesting, she goes "Hilton?" This is a Marrriot!! Laughing at the fact that I was indeed at the wrong hotel. I looked at her and said, what is so funny that I am at the wrong hotel. Its not funny ans its not ok to laugh at someone when an honest mistake is made. She tells me , I am not laughing at you and you are being disrespectful So I am going to respectfully ask you to leave the Hotel. I am on my phone trying to figure out where is it that I need to go and trying to call my ride back and she kept insisting to leave the building. I asked for a manager to what she said that I didnt need a manager that she was in fact asking me to leave. Never in my life have I experienced anything like this. I am in the retail industry and Ive seen bad service but this felt like bullying. This young associate has no business being at a front desk of any establishment much less a "Marriott".
