We have stayed at Ole Miss Motel three times and are on the way for our 4th stay. The owners, Dave and Pam are two of the nicest people we have ever met. They are exceptional supporters of the city of Oxford and of the University of Mississippi (GO REBS!). They try to do everything they can to make your stay with them a great experience. One of the nice things is that the motel rooms are so very reasonably priced. The rooms are very clean and Dave and Pam take great pride in providing the best guest experience. We have stayed in rooms with 2 queen beds and also a room with one king sized bed. The beds and pillows are updated and very comfortable. This is a quaint motel. It is old, as back in the day when nice motels (as this one) were called motor courts. Construction workers, Ole Miss families, Rebel football fans and people from all walks of life enjoy the Ole Miss Motel. You are likely to see a new Mercedes parked alongside a construction worker's truck. The motel is quiet and peaceful. Dave and Pam do not allow loud or inappropriate behavior. It is a very safe place to stay, within walking distance of restaurants and of the Square. Rooms are reasonably priced and clean. Do not expect shampoo, conditioner and lotion in the bathrooms, do not expect breakfast, however if you need forgotten items all you have to do is to ask Dave or Pam and they will provide needed items. Irons and ironing boards are available upon request. The TVs and cable are nice and in working order. Lots of hot water and very good water pressure. The rooms we have stayed in were a large size containing either 2 queen beds or a king bed. Good, free wireless internet in your room. The rooms at the motel are very nice but very basic, so DO COME STAY, but know what to expect and you will not be disappointed. Also know that Pam and Dave will do everything they can to provide you with a great experience, as if you were staying in their own home. The motel is clean, quaint and personable. If you stay once you will want to come again!! This business is a Member of The Better Business Bureau and was once featured in the upscale magazine...
Read moreDO NOT STOP HERE!! If I could give this hotel negative stars I would. I have never been in a hotel that was this terrible and honestly can not believe this place has not been condemned. There is absolutely nothing positive to say about this place and the staff is equally as terrible. The room was tiny, it fit a double bed with barely enough room to open the door without hitting the bed, monivering in between the wall and the bed was also quite a task. The bed spread looked to be close to 30 years old and had rips all through it, it was so dirty I would not lay any of my belongings on it much less sit on it. The bathroom was filthy and did not come with a bathtub. There was a dirty stand up shower that appeared to have been out of order for the past 15 years, the shower curtain had huge black mildew stains at the bottom of it. There really are no words to describe just how bad this room actually was. After checking my bank account and talking to the friend who was supposed to be meeting me in Oxford I decided to ask for a refund so I could go get a hotel that I would actually be able to sleep in. In total I had been in the room and parking lot for about 10 minutes, the hotel lady refused my refund saying I had been inside the room for longer then 1 minute. I pointed out the condition of the room and this had no effect on her. I wound up leaving and going down the street to the Quality Inn and spending an additional 100 dollars but there was absolutely no way I could have slept there. The hotel tenants appeared to be engaging in illegal activity so on top of worrying about hygiene and sanatation issues I was also worried about personal safety. The hotels name is very misleading, being names Ole Miss hotel I figured it would reflect the reputation of the school but this is far from true. I am embarrassed for Ole Miss that there is a hotel in this shape using its name. Please do not waste your time...
Read moreWhilst the Old Miss Motel is not a five star hotel with all the facilities and attention that goes with that kind of place, it is hard to think of what more you could expect of a traditional motel. Of its kind, it is a gem.||This is almost a period piece. It has a 1970s ‘feel’ to it and I guess little has changed since then except for the provision of an efficient and complementary WiFi system. Nothing is flash but everything works. There’s an efficient lock, adequate lighting, a comfortable bed, a working fridge, a plug in the basin, hot and cold running water and an efficient Air Conditioning system. Towels and paper are refreshed. The manager/proprietor is informative, efficient and helpful. What’s not to like?||Don’t go expecting five star facilities for Motel prices - but if what you want is an inexpensive room with functioning essential facilities close to the centre of the university city of Oxford, this takes a...
