The South Lamar Bed & Breakfast — Hotel in Oxford

I booked the Windham Suite yesterday for $425 per night, paid my 50% deposit, and received email confirmation. The owner, Brandi, decided she could make more money since it was the weekend of the Morgan Wallen concert. So she emailed me "the rates were wrong" and the rooms are now $995 per night and if I don't agree she will cancel my reservation. I spoke with her on the phone, requested she honor the published/booked rate, and stated it was bad business to change the rate after booking. She canceled my reservation anyway and then would not answer my calls. This is poor business practice. Everyone should know their confirmation/deposit means nothing to this business. They do NOT honor their posted online prices. They can and WILL change your rate after booking and cancel your reservation. I will NOT recommend such lack of integrity even though I strive to support local, small businesses. I actually stayed here before and recommended it to many people, however that did not matter. I have stayed at the South Lamar several times- twice for a " girls trip", once for an Ole Miss game with my hubby and once on a work trip and EVERY time I was thrilled with my stay! The owners, Brandi & Scott, went above and beyond to make each stay memorable, treating us like friends not just guests. The suites are beautifully decorated and filled with luxuries you don't often find at other BnB's, making their prices more than fair. ( even on 'special event weekends) The level of attention paid to us made us feel special and pampered, even with a house full of guests! I simply cannot praise this amazing place enough and would give it 10 plus stars if i could! We’ve stayed at multiple hotels and VRBO’s in the 4 years we’ve been visiting Oxford, and hands down this is our favorite! It’s not just the beauty of the property, the spacious and immaculately designed rooms and the attention to every detail…it’s the hosts. Brandi and Scott are the most accommodating, kind and thoughtful hosts we have encountered. This is our 3rd visit to this beautiful B&B and it did not disappoint.
